Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.

For me, roti is not just food — it’s a kind of peace. When hot, freshly made roti comes to the plate, it feels like the perfect start to the day. I love eating roti — not only in the morning but sometimes even at night. Roti goes well with almost anything — fried potatoes, lentil bhuna, eggs, meat curry, vegetables, or even a banana. This simple combination makes for a truly satisfying meal.

I personally dislike eating rice in the morning. Morning meals should be light and easy. However, there are many people who cannot eat without rice — they feel incomplete without it. On the other hand, some prefer burgers, sandwiches, or bread. It’s all about personal taste and lifestyle. And of course, budget plays a role too. Sometimes roti can be cheaper than rice, while others think making roti is time-consuming and labor-intensive.

This morning, I woke up around 7:30 and decided to make roti by myself. My wife made delicious potato fry to go with it. Potatoes are quite affordable these days, so eating them generously isn’t a problem. After getting fresh, I sat down to eat the roti with the warm potato fry — and honestly, it was heavenly! A simple meal, yet it filled my heart with joy. Warm roti, a bit of spicy fry, and a cup of tea — that’s all it takes to energize me for the whole day.

Roti is a staple food across South Asia — in Pakistan, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, and of course Bangladesh. It has been a part of our traditional diet for centuries. In the past, most households in Bangladesh made roti regularly, especially for breakfast or dinner. But with time, this habit started fading away because making roti requires effort — kneading the dough, rolling it out, and cooking it on a hot pan takes patience and time.

However, in recent years, people have started returning to roti again. One major reason is the rise of diabetes. As diabetes has become more common, many families have reduced their rice consumption and switched to roti. Compared to rice, roti contains fewer carbohydrates and is easier to digest. Whole wheat roti also releases glucose slowly, which helps maintain stable blood sugar levels — making it a healthier choice for diabetic patients.

Moreover, roti keeps the stomach full for longer and provides steady energy throughout the morning. It’s also a great breakfast option for children — pairing roti with eggs or milk makes a nutritious start to the day.

The process of making roti itself brings a special kind of satisfaction. Mixing flour, rolling the dough, and smelling that warm aroma as it puffs up on the pan — these moments bring warmth and love into the home. Nowadays, many people use roti makers to make the task even easier.

In our fast-paced modern life, we often overlook the beauty of simple foods like roti. Yet it holds a sense of tradition, comfort, and family bonding. Roti is more than just a meal — it’s a symbol of our culture and affection within families.

So, I would say — try starting your day with a warm roti and a bit of vegetable or fried potato. You’ll feel lighter, happier, and more ready to face the day ahead.

Thanks all
