A Beautiful Evening and a Cup of Ginger-Lemon Tea
Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.
Yesterday was supposed to be just another ordinary day, but the evening turned out to be surprisingly delightful. After Asr prayer, my wife called me and said she was going to visit one of her acquaintances — a woman who used to sew her dresses when we lived in our previous house.
That lady’s stitching skills are truly remarkable. The way she designs and finishes every dress is simply perfect — it feels tailor-made for the person wearing it. Even after moving to our new house, my wife continued to get her dresses made by her. Last month, before going to our village home, she had made two dresses and had a small amount left to pay. So, she went to the tailor’s house to clear the payment and asked me to pick her up on my way home from the office.
Honestly, I wasn’t really in the mood to go there that day. After a long and tiring day at work, all I wanted was to go home, relax, and rest. But I changed my mind for one reason — my little daughter, Nusaiba. When she’s not home, the house feels empty and lifeless. So, I decided to go and bring them home.
When I reached the tailor auntie’s house, she welcomed me warmly and offered me a seat. The room was clean, cozy, and filled with a homely vibe. A few moments later, she brought me a cup of hot tea — ginger and lemon mixed — along with some salted biscuits. The aroma of the tea instantly lifted my mood.
The first sip felt magical — the light spiciness of the ginger, the tangy flavor of the lemon, and the depth of the black tea blended perfectly. The salted biscuits added just the right crunch to complete the experience. It was one of those simple yet precious moments that make you forget the fatigue of the entire day.
While sitting there, I couldn’t help but admire the lady’s dedication to her craft. She doesn’t just sew clothes — she works with care and passion, making sure her customers leave satisfied. Nowadays, such sincerity and simplicity are rare.
After about half an hour, we left for home. As we walked along the roadside, little Nusaiba held my finger tightly. Her tiny footsteps echoed softly in the evening calm, and the fading sunlight made everything look serene. That moment — her innocent smile, the cool evening breeze, and the quiet road — felt like pure happiness.
On the way back, I realized something important: peace doesn’t come from fancy restaurants or expensive coffee. It comes from small, heartfelt moments — a cup of tea made with love, a few shared laughs, and the presence of family.
That evening, a simple cup of ginger-lemon tea reminded me that happiness often hides in the smallest corners of our daily lives — we just need to pause and feel it.
Thanks all
