In gyms with us bodybuilding is normal. It depends on the muscles you like or need to build what the excercises look like and depending on your health cardio fitness can be done or a part of it.
If you row, swim or run you strengthen and build muscles.
I think @lupega has strong legs same for those who bicycle to school or work 1 hour. You can can see it at the legs.
