I saw this portrait when I was in Bangladesh. A street artist was selling various pictures, paintings etc. He was claiming that he had painted all of them himself. I asked him the price of this particular portrait. He told me it was just 20 dollars. I checked my pocket and found only 15 dollars in it. Since I didn’t have the full amount, he refused to sell it to me.
I walked away. After a few days, my CCC friend @wakucat invited me to her home. To my surprise, I saw the same picture hanging on the wall of her drawing room. Before I could say anything, she proudly announced that the portrait was extremely expensive and it had been painted by the famous Leonardo da Vinci. I asked her how much she had paid for it. She said she spent over a hundred thousand dollars on it.
I felt genuinely sad for her. If I hadn’t fallen short by just five dollars, that “Leonardo's” painting would have been hanging on my wall instead. I still haven’t told her the truth, but you guys can imagine how much I know about her. 😜😜😜
