My first day at home – by Yoda

They call me Sir Yoda - the handsome hunk sitting on the window sill in the picture. It was summer of 2010. Landed home with my mom and dad. I took an instant liking to the surroundings. Stayed in a bedroom where my humans thought I’d be safe, but I was eager to explore my abode. I played with someone like me, through the gap under the door of a bedroom without knowing who was on the other side.

Enter Lady Mariposa – who smelled like a cat but there was something different about her squished face, nothing that I had seen so far, having lived with a pack of kittens at the cattery I came from. She might have been two years older, and me half the size. But that did not deter me to put up a show of strength – yes, I stretched my body to the max I could. She was unfazed at the moment, but it didn’t take long for her to realize who the future boss would be in the cat hierarchy. Now that did not stop her from loving me though (that’s who I am :)). She grabbed me and groomed me. I enjoyed it and still let her do it even to this day but I don’t really care to return the gesture.
