Nevertheless both places have recently been labeled as a "dictatorship" along with claims the people there were under "Communist oppression" by many Western media and certain US and EU political figures.

Yet oddly enough, the Catalonia independent leaders, have inside the very heart of the free, capitalist and democratic human rights guardian Europe, just been sentenced to 9-to 13 years of jail, just for holding a referendum, of which the EU didn't even recognize the results.
