Mercedes E400 4Matic AMG Line Review
What a week it's been, and we've got you lots of great automotive content from the SMMT test day, including this Mercedes E400, we drove the car on a closed circuit, a hill climb to be exact with an R8 eager to pass our sleeper.
We were very excited to drive a modern Mercedes car as we wanted to compare it to our 2 classic CE230's. It's great to see the luxury has remained of a high quality, and still offers pioneering tech on their models.
The model we drove was a V6 3 litre twin turbo 4Matic with 9G Tronic gearbox, a very quick machine, with perfect handling and AMG looks including different grille, aggressive bumpers, side skirts and bigger wheels.
The engine propels you 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds, and is limited to 155mph, not surprising with 328bhp.
The suspension is out of this world, extremely comfortable yet holds the road like it's on rails, with the air suspension which is standard on the AMG line models.
The best part about this car is the convertible hood and the fun of driving a topless car in summer on perfect roads, the hood is available in a variety of colours.
This model is around £55,000, and well worth the money.
Very nice! I drove quite few E classes in port (a lot more S class and maybachs for some reason), all for japanese market and was very nice to drive, but definitely needed to get used to right hand driving some mercede's quickly. :) Very nice man, well done!
