The automotive market is disjointed with centralized information about car ownership in country registries with no ability to share and used car buyers are left in the dark. With carVertical a decentralized car registry built on the blockchain used car buyers will have access to their prospective car’s full history allowing for more a more informed buying decision.

A used vehicle may have had one or more previous owners and could have been through any number of incidents, such as collisions, floods, fires, etc. and the buyer never would have known.

With the carVertical platform all this scattered and fragmented info will be deposited onto the blockchain where it will be stored in perpetuity and can be safely accessed anytime from any user anywhere. The blockchain will gather as much info as possible from sources like centralized country registries, police, interpol databases, insurance, leasing, claims handling service databases, privately owned registries, paid APIs, and others. All info deposited onto the blockchain cannot be changed, manipulated, or written over. This provides TRUST to an industry with a horrendous reputation for lies. Even more important though the car’s history will be decentralized and accessible to the general public.

  • What problems does this solve in the real world, and what advantages can it provide?
    There are 4 major problems in the automotive industry:

We don't have a PUBLIC data.
Scattered historical data with very limited access.
No ability to share data between centralized databases.
Used car owners and buyers are not aware of the full history of the car.

  • How will carVertical solve this?
    Data will become public and accessible to all users on the platform. All historical data will be captured from various places and all kept on the blockchain. It is decentralized with no single point of failure, and it will connected the fragmented centralized databases to create something useful for buyers. The full history of the car will be available to both used car buyers and owners so they know what they are selling or buying and it’s true value.

  • Technology:
    The data held on the blockchain is immutable and will be kept on the registry. Full transparency and trust will be present. The only losers are those that would try and manipulate information for their own gain. Any person or company who checks the data of a car can be 100% sure the data they are getting is correct and as extensive as possible.
