220 Mph Genovation GXE All-Electric Supercar

A while back everyone went nuts over the Tesla Roadster, a great car but there is an alternative.

The Genovation GXE employs state-of-the-art batteries, inverters and electric twin-motors, producing more than 800 horsepower and more than 700 lb.-ft. of torque. The GXE offers two transmission alternatives deploying power to the rear wheels. Buyers may choose between a seven-speed manual transmission with a conventional clutch pedal – an all-electric supercar category exclusive – and a paddle-shift automatic gearbox. Either transmission enables the GXE to achieve 0-60 mph in less than three seconds and deliver a top speed in excess of 220 mph.

Why I like this car:-

1. It’s a drivers car with a gearbox, you can choose from a manual gearbox or a paddle-shift, electric cars don’t really need a gear box but this does allow people to drive in way they are accustomed to so it’s pretty cool to have something where you can do a bit of gear changing and have some fun, before our minds are completely taken away from us with driverless cars.

2. It’s fantastic to look at, I’m not a great fan of American car design but this does look cool and from a design point of view I like it, I need cars to look good to make me what them.

3. It’s electric, people have been hypnotised into a world where liberties are taken away and no options have been given so this is one sexy car to further push the idea of options to drive clean motor vehicles.

4. With 800 horsepower and more than 700 lb. -ft. of torque it would produce a smile on my face super wide and make me feel happy.

5. Carbon fibre wheels, reducing unsprung weight is always a good idea and just great to see it on an American car, pushing technology further.

6. It’s not a Tesla, I love Tesla and want one probably more than anything, however it’s great to have a bit of competition and I welcome more electric supercars.

7. It’s good for the environment you don’t have a large pollution producing engine driving around dropping pollution out all over the place.

8. It sounds like a “Star Fighter” according to Genovation, Noise pollution is a thing, although people love to hear a combustion engine they don’t realise what damage loud noises and frequencies can do to the human body, electric cars are quieter, although this one seems to be pretty loud at high speed runs, but it does sound a lot better than a normal car.

9. It’s fast, at the time of writing, the Genovation GXE is the only street-legal electric super car in the world to have certified speeds of more than 200 mph, the Tesla Roadster will probably beat it but we are still waiting, so it should be some exciting times ahead for electric cars.

There are however a few drawbacks with car:-

1. Price it’s a lot, seriously a lot.

2. They put the steering wheel on the wrong side, but you have to expect that from the Americans.
