ELECTRIC CARS

in #cars7 years ago (edited)

This time I would like to share a very promising news story I found on investments news in Ukraine in an area very important to ecology, electric cars. Unfortunately the source does not have an English version, so this is mytranslation (https://inventure.com.ua/news/ukraine/v-ukraine-mozhet-proizojti-bum-v-sfere-elektromobilej).

BOOM IN THE SPHERE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES SOON TO HAPPEN IN UKRAINE

In Ukraine, the government is going to increase the investment attractiveness in the field of electric vehicles, introducing subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles, as well as initiating own production. By 2020, the Ministry of Infrastructure intends to increase the proportion of electric vehicles up to 15% in the total sales.

In addition, when buying a car with zero emissions, the Ukrainians will be able to recoup some of the costs for an electric car purchase.

In 2017, the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure Vladimir Omeljan predicts the world's three largest automobile producers to come to the local market. The general list of potential investors in the field of electric vehicles includes: Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen, PSA Peugeot-Citroen, Honda, Hyundai, Suzuki, GM and Fiat.

From myself I will add that hopefully soon it will be just "not cool" to use "stinky" cars. I’m really looking forward to when those taking a walk near a motorway or in acity during busy hours will not be poisoned by emissions of hundreds cars.

Great news!

In the Netherlands (where I'm from) we stimulate the purchase of more environmental friendly cars for years already. At first hybrid cars where stimulated, but now with more 100% electrical cars on the market, the stimulation program is focussed on zero emission, meaning 100% electrical and 100% hydrogen cars. These government programs where very successful; We have a relative large number of Tesla and other electrical cars in our roads. We even have a 100% Tesla only taxi company in Amsterdam area :)

Tesla is planning to setup 3 new factories next to the two they are building in the USA. The Dutch want to get one in our country. Recently our minister of foreign affairs is openly stating this ambition. It would be so cool to have such production facility here! Maybe something for Ukraine to go after Tesla as well?

Great, thank you for sharing. Yes in Ukraine we have a long way to the goal of more environmental friendly cars, but at least something is made. I saw maybe two Tesla one in Dnip other in Lviv but hopefully the number of electric cars will increase. Also there is some cheap hybrids on the market. Even police of Dnip using them. Hopefully one day people will realise it's simply "chavy" to not go electric :))

I think it just a matter of time. More and more car manufacturers are now introducing 100% electrical cars on the market, even the big brands like BMW and Mercedes are entering this field. Tesla is leading the rollout of charging points while on the road; That infrastructure is required as well for mass adoption. Give it 10 years and you will see a complete changed transportation system around you; I'm pretty convinced!

Hope so! :)
