1963 Maserati Sebring 3500GTi Series 1

History of the Maserati Sebring
The Maserati Sebring, two-door 2+2 coupé, was introduced in 1962 and produced until 1968 in order to establish Maserti as a manufactuer in the American Gran Turismo market (road car). The Sebring is based on the 3500GT and named after the competition won by Maserati in 1957, the 12 Hours of Sebring, annual motorsport endurance race in Florida (US).
The Series I Coupé was shown at Salon International de l'Auto in Paris in 1962 and at the Salone dell'automobile di Torino in 1963. Designed by Giovanni Michelotti, designer working at Vignale, Italian automobile coachbuilder company, the model was more expensive than the Aston Martin DB5, its closest rival. The production of Series I ended in 1966 with 348 examples had been built.
Technical specification
With its 3,485 CC DOHC inline 6-Cylinder engine delivering 235 hp, the Sebring could reach 220 kmh and jump to 100 kmh in 8.5 seconds with ZF 5-speed manual gearbox.
The restoration brings the car back to its original specification and finished with this beautiful red. Contrary, the interior was in perfect condition unless the frond seat which was recovered.
