Happy 4/20 Good Songs for The Tree of Life
Today is the four hundred twentieth Day of the year. It is a very special day for my people. Many aspects of this culture have been encoded in various popular music artifacts of western culture, one of my favorite artists that has dealt with this is Tupac. If I had more money would be pouring out liquor for him today. Tupacs "Changes" discusses :
"It's war on the streets and the war in the Middle East Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs"
Pac also discussed the stupid war on drugs in "Ghetto Gospel:" thusly
"But am I less holy 'Cause I chose to puff a blunt and drink a beer with my homies"
Pac was not the only artist that discussed this divine substance, but the way he discussed it is still relevant today. They still got a failed war on poverty and failed wars in the middle east. And they got nearly 1% of us here in Murca behind bars, many for nonviolent conduct. Revelations 22:2 asserts:
"the leaves of the trees are for the healing of nations"
It is sad that Rastafarian faith and the miracle cannabis plant continues to be outlawed, and in some areas where permitted under state law, under markets that are very uncompetitive. Did you know that Rand Corp's 2010 research on the costs of legal sensimllia, seedless as high as $80-200 per lb for indoor, or $8-10 per lb for outdoor, but possibly below $1 per lb for outdoor. It is despicable the prices for this substance in CA and CO today--yea it legal in 1984.

It is sad indeed that this divine plant is outlawed in so many places. And the legal prices are indeed despicable. The thought of $1 lb of outdoor is absolutely mind blowing right now but could be the standard if the plant were truly legal and allowed to grow like the weed that it is.

Tupac's music certainly did focus on a lot many societal issues. It was, i might say, more than just the beats, but the message.
And certainly more than just about 'love' and 'adoration' .
A complete contrast to much of today's music that is either about 'love' for man or woman, or something related.
He is an artist much missed.
