How Long Until Amazon Starts Delivering Cannabis?

in #cannabis6 years ago

State regulators just this week unveiled their newly proposed rules for cannabis legalization in California and that includes new restrictions surrounding cannabis delivery. California isn't the only one to move toward cannabis delivery, as there are a growing number of states that have been looking to set up rules regarding this sort of transaction. Some experts in the cannabis delivery business have suggested that perhaps the demand for cannabis delivery might eventually grow to the point that we see Amazon get involved in delivering cannabis as well.

““I think there’s no doubt that eventually Amazon will get into this business. The question is, is that five years, 10 years, or 20 years,... I think it will be a bit longer for them … until there’s much more clarity at the federal level.” - Eaze CEO Jim Patterson.

Eaze has already been busy making cannabis deliveries in the United States, they already operate in more than 100 cities.

Cannabis delivery has been banned in some areas, but California might now be ready to establish their final control grid on this area of commerce. With their new rules that they've just proposed, they've also offered the public a few days to respond to. This isn't the first attempt either, at allegedly trying to establish legalization in this area, they've offered multiple attempts already for trying to establish regulations surrounding the cannabis industry.

For those who want to share their concerns about the changes, they can do so by writing or attending a number of hearings. According to state authorities, they say that the new rules are simply clarifying regulations that were already previously established, specifically with relation to cannabis delivery.

There are still some areas that haven't yet embraced cannabis and adopted legalization with allowing dispensaries to open etc, and it's suspected that the new changes to delivery will help to broaden access to those who need cannabis in California.

A Promising Market For Cannabis Delivery...

California isn't the only place where cannabis deliveries have been taking place, whether or not it's been exactly legal, many entrepreneurs have sought to meet this need either lawfully or through civil disobedience. It's reported that cannabis deliveries have also taken place in areas like Nevada, Alaska, New York, Massachusetts, and a few other regions.

The black market has been successfully getting cannabis into the hands of the customer for many years and that is what people are accustomed to, that's their need that the cannabis industry will be required to meet if it's going to satisfy.

Interestingly, one recent study that was published in the Journal of Substance Use found that a majority of those who are ordering cannabis delivery are using that cannabis as a substitute for painkillers and other prescription medicine. But this might not come as as surprise to some, who've already heard one of many reports about the potential for cannabis to allegedly help with addiction and reducing the prevalence of prescription medicine use, and much more.

Cannabis is nothing compared to Alcohol imo. I still don't get why it hasn't been legalized.

Because marijuana threatens the paper, textile, concrete, oil, booze, etc corporate monopolies which are totally owned and controlled by Freemasons. They fraudulently pick their puppet president way ahead of the elections. So to sum it all up. The rich get rich and the poor stay poor. Now that weed is slowly legalized, the 1% rakes in even more $$$. All that $$$ will cost them the Freemasons their souls however.

Word. So, let's keep on creatin' new conscious businesses in balance & harmony with people & planet , to kill Babylon ;)

Amazon is delivering every single thing. Cannabis is nothing big when becomes legal! :)

You should boycott Amazon in general ,
and especially for delivering Mary Jane!

whatever works for the individual 👍😄

Did you hear about Amazons working conditions?

Might be great if amazon did get involved, prices would likely go down😎
Nice post @doitvoluntarily!

@doitvoluntarilt the cannabis and should once legalize it I do not know why the authorities expect so much, well just a matter of time, good shot the amazon

The only downside I see to cannabis delivery is safety, honestly. Obviously precautions will be put into place over time and it will become a very safe industry but during the beginnings of the process, especially in certain areas that can't afford higher security measures, people are going to know exactly where someone is going to be coming out of with a bunch of weed. There's a lot of shady people out there, and it just is a little unnerving to think about.

But, like I said before I'm sure the proper precautions will be taken. I just hope everything goes smooth(or as smooth as it can) up until that point

I'd rather see people just growing little gardens than having big business take over... that said, for those who can't get out I suppose delivery is nice. I'd still rather see it kept local.
