Indeed, the desaturation didn't affect the mosquito, just the plants in the back ground!
It's the Asian Tiger Mosquito and is capable of carrying most of the fun viruses.

Thank you very much @karanchahal! Yes, simply desaturating an image is often not enough to really make it shine in B&W. and fortunately, Lightroom and other apps have many different ways to render a B&W image, try them all!
