The Spring has not arrived yet - Icy Ponds and Freezing Ducks | B&W Photo Contest Precipitation
This is my entry for the B&W photo contest. This weeks' theme is "precipitation".
Unfortunately - (well, fortunately for taking photos, but unfortunately for the rest of life:) it fits well into the present weather condition here. This year spring is delayed.
There is still ice on the ponds in the urban parks. Within the liquid water small pieces of ice form a pattern, while rain and sleet fall down.
The vegetation is far behind the time of the year. We are approaching the end of march, but the park looks still like in the middle of winter. There is no green leaf yet, but you can see pieces of ice laying on the frozen surface.
Strangely enough, the birds are pretty noisy.
As long as there is no new weather front bringing snow, like yesterday.
A duck stands on a piece of ice in a canal near a bridge. I am sure it is disgusted and annoyed while it waits for the spring to finally arrive.
