You may have amazing potentials to succeed but the way you are perceived by others, the way they value you, think and talk about you matters and this is because human beings are known to decide emotionally and make judgements logically hence the call for personal branding. image source :LinkedIn
Personal branding as we have been exposed to is not packaging, it spans beyond that. Personal branding is basically an extension of who you are, it is the way you express yourself in an amplified way such that you command influence and attention.
If you are familiar with the term “branding”, you can recall that a brand is simply a promise and when you own a brand, you are making a promise to the people you influence and you are known for keeping to that promise. image source : dreamstime.com
This leads me to correcting the idea behind building fake personal brands that does not express who you truly are. A lot of people are trying to be someone else in the bid to build a perfect and strong personal brand, they manipulate themselves into someone they are not to avoid being ridiculed and criticised and this usually does not last because it is not them.
It is therefore very important for you to keep asking yourself “who am I, what do I stand for?” until you get answers, you are satisfied and you are really convinced about who you are. image source :sterling marketing group. It is after then that we can talk about you expressing yourself consciously and consistently until you succeed in building your personal brand.
I’ll conclude by saying that personal branding is something that sets you up to become successful faster than others, you tend to get jobs faster, you are paid higher and you are treated with more respect. image source : pinterest.
