Writing a long post on busy.org

in #busy6 years ago

...actually on staging.busy.org. I'm writing this post to give you an update on what I am doing and to investigate an error that was reported a few times on busy Discord server.

"...storage limit of 16mb..." error

This error: "Oops! You hit the storage limit of 16mb, delete some" shows up every time draft saving fails.
Drafts are saved locally and on the SteemConnect server.
Draft-saving on SteemConnect can fail for multiple reasons. Here are a few causes I observed (directly or indirectly):

  • Internet connection loss
  • Logging out of SteemConnect (from another browser tab or due to SteemConnect reset after maintenance/update)
  • Storage limit of 16mb is reached (a few users reported this on Discord)

While writing a post on Busy, on the right sidebar we can check the time of the last successful draft save. So even if we encounter this error due to connection loss, the draft can be saved after the connection is restored.
Sometimes the connection to SteemConnect can be lost even if the internet connection is good.
Here are the console errors I have:

This "storage limit of 16mb" error just showed up while I was writing this post and the draft name disappeared from the "Last drafts" list for a few seconds.

Now I have a problem uploading a screenshot image.

Uploading the image again does not work because it is assigned the same address.

I made another screenshot to be able to show the console errors.

And I get this error in console.

Anyway, back to "...storage limit of 16mb..." error when writing a long post

I refreshed the page to clear the errors in console and now I write more, so maybe I can reproduce this bug one more time.

Getting some fresh air and exercise

Yesterday morning we had a few drops of rain and I went to the countryside to spread some plant seeds over one area of our family land.

Last year there were a lot of weeds and I called someone with a tractor and tilled almost 1000 square meters out of 2900sqm. There is a lot of unused land around Romanian villages. Few people have the will, the knowledge and the means to produce something directly off the land. It is hard work and often the costs exceed the benefits. Just commuting 30 kilometers from home to an empty field can cost more than can be earned by selling some vegetables at the market.

Live where you work or work where you live - basic human needs

Spending less time and resources on daily transportation can be a good idea, but then we need to be able to live decently-close to the workplace. We need clean air for breathing; clean water for drinking, for washing our body and clothes and for watering ecologically-grown food; clean energy for the home and for transportation. Living as hunter-gatherers is no longer an option for most of the people, even if there are some who can still live that life. There are not enough places in the wilderness for all the people to go back to, and it's generally safer to live in communities. Agriculture and settling allows the human population to grow by sharing water supplies, food, energy and transportation. Still it's a nice experience to try the old lifestyle, to reconnect with nature.
Chopping firewood is a good practice. It keeps you warm and safe twice: first when you chop it and second when you sleep in front of a fireplace.

Nobody likes to feel cold (apart from Wim Hof :)

I guess this post is long enough now. That storage error did not show up again even if there are some new errors in the console:

Do you like apples? I do!

These fruits are ecologically grown, no chemicals were sprayed on the trees, only rain water. Some are rotten inside, eaten by healthy worms, but the taste is sweet and the flavor is strong. I need to eat it consciously with attention not to bite the bad side :)

Why not to plant some fruit trees? A good fence/wall is needed to keep the animals from eating the leaves; and plenty of water. It's no easy task to nurse a tree but once it grows for a few years there is little work to be done, mainly collecting rewards.

( Steem on! :)
