You were not born on earth

Maybe you just got through it. Maybe that was all you could ask for. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins? For whose smiles and well-being our own happiness depends. Maybe everybody had the same allotted measure of happiness within each day. The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. You were not born on earth to please anyone; you have to live life to express yourself, not to impress someone. We know from daily life that we exist for other people first of all, Maybe everyone is just waiting for someone else to save them. Do you know what your problem is? You can't live with the idea that someone might leave. Youth offers the promise of happiness, but life offers the realities of grief. Life is problems. Living is solving problems. ...when pain is over, the remembrance of it often becomes a pleasure.
