Intro
It is getting crazy at the moment of writing we already have received 105 entries. Initially the contest was capped at 100 contenders. But let's stretch this to 200!!!
Also I cannot thank the sponsors of this contest enough. They made it able to increase the prize pool to a whopping 100 BSD. I dare you to find another contest with this kind of prize pool!
New registrations
The old registration post will not accept any more new entries. This comment counter stands ate 379, so it has become hard to track all new entries. Therefor new entries will only be accepted as a comment on this post!
I also want to ask to read the rules fully! I am fed up with chasing people who did not wrote down the coefficients of the total number of goals. This has cost me a lot of time during the past week!
The rules
Only entry per steem account!
Each contender have to pick 12 countries, from each pot (used during the draw of the world cup) 3 teams need to be picked.
Each country may be only picked once by the contender, so it is not allowed, to choise Brazil 3 times from pot 1!
Every country has to be given a coefficient between 1 and 12, where each coefficient may only be used once!
Points:
-- For every game a country wins (in regular time) they will be awarded 3 points
-- For every game a country draws (after regular time) they will be awarded 1 point
-- For every goals the team scores during the regular time, they will be awarded 1 points (Goals made during the extra time do not count)
-- For instance: Brazil – France: 3 -1. Brazil will get 6 points (3 for the win and 3 for the 3 goals), France will get 1 point (1 for the goal scored)The points will be multiplied with the coefficient.
Assume that Brazil would have a coefficient of 6 and France of 12, the Brazil will have 6 times 6 = 36 points, France will get 1 times 12 = 12 pointsThe contender with the highest number of points at the end of the World Cup, will be the winner!
To eliminate to possibility of a tie between 2 contenders, there also will be 4 extra questions to be filled in:
** Total number of goals during the first match day
** Total number of goals during the second match day
** Total number of goals during the third match day
** Total number of goals during the complete tournament (only the ones used for the calculation, so goals in extra time will not count)
Or in short like @ervin-lemark likes to summarize it:
In short, make your list of 12 teams with picking three teams from each draw pot. During the Worldcup you will receive points according to the games they win and goals they score, multiplied by their coefficient. Simple :)

- 1ste place -> 20 SBD
- Second place -> 13 SBD
- Third place -> 10 SBD
- Fourth place -> 8 SBD
- Fifth place -> 5 SBD
- Sixth place -> 3 SBD

- Eigth place -> 1 SBD
Round Robin Rounds (21 SBD)
- Best score first round: 4 SBD, Second best score first round: 2 SBD, Third best score first round: 1 SBD
- Best score second round: 4 SBD, Second best score second round: 2 SBD, Third best score first round: 1 SBD
- Best score third round: 4 SBD, Second best score third round: 2 SBD, Third best score first round: 1 SBD
SBC Members (13 SBD):
- First SBC member : 6 SBD
- Second SBC member: 4 SBD
- Third SBC member: 2 SBD
- Fourth SBC member: 1 SBD
Lucky number 25 (4 SBD (a increase of 1 SBD))
The number 25 in the overall competition will receive 4 SBD. This number is based on both the birthdays of my sons! I also sponsor the Lucky 25 in @abh12345 engagement league. If you are not participating in this league yet, don’t hesitate to do it!
Entry requirements
- In the first registration phase the number of participants is limited to 100 participants. White listed SBD members, will always get a spot in the competition, regardless of the already subscribed participants
- Minimal reputation requirement is 30! SBC members are excluded from this requirement! If you do feel that you are a genuine Steemian but doesn't reach the reputation requirement drop me a comment and I will let you know if you are able to register!
- Upvoting is not required to participated in the contest, but is very much appreciated. The pay-out of these registration posts could increase the Prize Pool!
- There is one and only one Jury member, which is me! If there are disputes they will be discussed by the SBC community!
- I will upvote each registration if it was registered successfully.
- Registration comments should be done as follows:
- 'country name in English' - 'coefficient' (12 times) (For instance: France - 12)
- Number of goals during the regular time of the world cup: xx
- Registration will close when 100 participants have entered or on Saturday 9th of June!
- Cheaters will be excluded! Just like double accounts and so on!

I'm actually from Australia but about 17 years ago, my best mate who is Portuguese got me into soccer and I support FC Porto now :)
Hope the Aussies do well but lets be honest, They have to play France in the first game!

Sorry I cannot approve your entry. You have 4 teams from pot 3 with Denkmark, Iceland, Egypt and Sweden. You need to pick 3 teams from each pot. So 3 teams from pot 1, 3 teams from pot 2 and so on.

I will try my best! I'm always in for a portion of football banter. For us Belgians, we must forget about what happened and believe in the squad we have. One of the main reasons Ive put us on top with 12 points, is because I genuinely believe that we are gonna give Panama and Tunesia a real battering, and after that we'll be flying against England, Poland/Colombia and be ready for the Germans :-) If not, so be it !
At least we are there!
But yep, putting Belgium with coefficient 12, will give you a good change for the prize pool of the first round robin round. I do expect at least 4 or 5 goals for us. This game can also make Romelu the topscorer of the World Cup!
The shirts for the kids are bought and printed, so I can't wait until the start!

Yes, I found that rather difficult I must say, mainly because of the pot restrictions! I think Belgium will probably do better than England, I am sure i'll get reminded of that in due course! let the banter begin!!!!

Both squads are decent and from the second round everything is possible! I do think ours is a little bit more balanced, if we don't get any injuries within our Defense!
I was thinking of the manager I mean Southgate doesn't fill me with much promise I must say. On the players front we have always had decent players, they just can't bring their form to the world stage, with the players we have had over the years we should have done better than a last 4 in 1990!!
