Delegation to @steem-ua
Thanks to a post of @tarazkp I discovered @steem-ua. It was not the first time that I did hear about it, that honor is for @abh12345 who wrote about it more than a month ago.
User Authority is trying to replace the current reputation system on the Steem Blockchain. The idea behind it is that the upvotes doesn't matter but the User Authority score the upvotes has. This would eliminate the case, where you do buy upvotes from higher ranked (in rep) Steemians and increase your reputation.
My UA score
At the moment my UA score is 3.207 and this does place me on position 8229 in UA ranking.
While this seems low, this actually more or less reflects my reputation ranking according to mysteemitfriends.
Because 95% of my rep is grown the organic way, it does show that the algorithm behind it is working. Of course, I always what to get higher up, but it is what it is!
The current reputation score has some flaws. Suppose that you really earned you rep by posting great quality content and start posting picture of grass once a day. Nobody will probably flag this post and your reputation still will be the same.
If I did understand it correctly the UA is vivid, so it can increase but also decrease!
I will add the UA ranking and figures to my Steem tracking sheet, this way I can find out if it can decrease of if my UA is getting to the moon!
Why did I delegate
Well there are 2 reasons for this! 1 is to support the project and algorithm and see if it works!
The second reason is that based on your UA score and the amount you have delegated to them, you will get some free upvotes.
Depending on the amount you have delegated to them, the frequency of the upvotes changes. For a delegation of 25SP, you will get one upvote per week, this increases to two per week when you have delegated 50SP. For 100 SP this increase to 4 and the max is 7 upvotes per week for a delegation of 250SP.
The value of the upvote depends on the UA score. How higher this score is, the higher the upvote value will be!
To try it out, I decided to delegate 50SP to @steem-ua.
Not only will I get some free upvotes (twice per week), I will also support quality content and good authors on the Steem Blockchain!

Nice to see you also support the project. I delegated 25 SP to find out how the service is working.
My UA is now at 1.155, which places me at rank 45,000 something. Would be interesting to see the differences in upvote values between the two of us.

It is indeed good enough to cover the costs of the delegation!
If it really is twice per week, the it would in total be around $0.46 per week. That wouldn't be possible with own upvotes of 50 SP. So worth the investment.

Somehow I expected you to get a higher upvote than me since your UA-score is higher. It might also be that they change it later and now give everybody the same (relative to their delegation).
I think it's well worth the investment!

Inderdaad. Keuzes moeten gemaakt worden. Maar als ik zie dat Asher en Tarazkp dit ook een goed project vinden, dan is het al wat makkelijk om te steunen!
Dat was ook mijn idee. Maar zonder gekheid ik ben zo groen in vergelijking met veel anderen including you ik zie jullie blog en lees ze echt ook goed door , maar heel veel dingen snap ik NOG niet 😬 ik heb er even meer tijd voor nodig.
