The dead tree in my garden

in #busy5 years ago (edited)

This pear tree is about 80 years old and has been dead for a few years.

I am not going to cut it down anytime soon.
A dead tree like this is a rare sight around here.
It attracts all sorts of animals, which rely on dead wood.

Countless insects live in it and every evening the woodpeckers come by for dinner.

In all public spaces and the forests around here, this tree would get could down.

Even though it looks terrible and makes me look lazy, I will just leave it as it is.
If it falls over, it is not going to hit a structure or anything important.
I am just wondering, when that will happen ...

Hi felixxx.

We need permission here to cut trees down, even dead ones.

Same here, but it only takes a letter ...

What would you do if it naturally falls over then?

Depending on where you are when it falls..., get squashed or watch the drama :)

Indeed, there's so much life in a sead tree.

Let nature do its thing, I like that.

Doesnt look terrible or lazy! ;)

It's beautiful to see how nature takes care of it. A good thing that you are not chopping it down!

He's beautiful,! Your're right to let him stand!!!
