Epidemic of suicides of milk producers can stop marijuana

For American milk producers, a black belt has come-farms that have been working for many decades are ruining one after another.

According to Forbes, the price of milk in the US market has been declining for 4 consecutive years. Many farmers, in order to pay off their debts, are forced to sell their farms, often inherited from fathers and grandfathers. And some even do not withstand the pressure and commit suicide.

Only in one cooperative Agri-Mark, uniting about 1 thousand milk producers, three of its participants voluntarily passed away in the last few years. And, according to the representatives of the cooperative, who recently published a forecast of milk prices for 2018, this year the situation will only get worse.

As a result, the association, designed to solve the problems of market participants, is trying to literally save their lives - for example, it organizes meetings with psychologists that help cope with stress and inevitably arise in such cases problems in family relations.

Meanwhile, milk producers have a great opportunity to get out of a protracted crisis. This is given to them by the cannabis industry.

It is expected that by 2025 the volume of the market for the production and sale of marijuana will reach $ 24 billion, and a significant portion of this solid amount will come from food products containing cannabis. Last year, in California alone, the volume of sales of beverages and marijuana products exceeded $ 180 million - about 10% of the entire cannabis market in that state. And as the cannabis industry develops, the segment of products with marijuana will certainly grow.

However, for the production of such products (for example, sweets or baked goods), not only grass is needed, but also other ingredients - in particular, butter and milk. Thus, farmers have an excellent opportunity to already agree on cooperation with representatives of the cannabis industry and secure a stable and growing market.

Moreover, farmers from states where medical and recreational marijuana have already been legalized can themselves manufacture such products, for example milk or butter with the addition of marijuana. The same cafes and restaurants that offer visitors food with cannabis will be happy to use these products in their kitchens.

In times of crisis, the number of suicides is often increased, but this, to put it mildly, is not the best way out. Dairy farmers, who are now in hard times, should look around - new opportunities to find now is not difficult.

It'd be nice way out to reinvent yourself as a canna-butter producer :)
