Hello steemians,

My visit to the Montreal Science Centre with my son Yahya to discover the immersive virtual reality experience of ancient Egypt was an unforgettable moment, full of discoveries and moments of wonder.

It was a beautiful evening, and the excitement was building as we approached the centre. Yahya, who is always curious and eager for new experiences was particularly excited to discover ancient Egypt through this immersive technology. Arriving at 6 pm, we were greeted by the modern and imposing façade of the Montreal Science Centre located in the picturesque Old Port.

The exhibition "The Horizon of Cheops" was the star attraction of the moment and the title alone conjured up images of majestic pyramids, all-powerful pharaohs, and mysteries buried in the desert sands. Upon entering, we were immediately immersed in an atmosphere reminiscent of the cultural riches of ancient Egypt with patterns inspired by hieroglyphics and reconstructions of ancient objects displayed in the display cases.

Yahya, his eyes shining with curiosity, rushed from display case to display case, asking a thousand questions about the objects on display. Watching his excitement grow with each discovery was a real pleasure and it reminded me why I loved sharing these moments with him so much.

Before starting the VR experience, we were briefed on how to use the virtual reality headsets. Yahya, who had never used this type of technology before was both intrigued and slightly nervous. I reassured him, explaining that this was an incredible adventure that would allow him to travel through time. Once our headsets were in place, the excitement was palpable.

As soon as the experience began, we were instantly transported to the vast expanses of the Egyptian desert. Yahya, at my side, looked around with wide eyes. Before us stood the great pyramid of Cheops, monumental and impressive. Every detail, from the grain of the stones to the rays of the sun that struck them, was rendered with such precision that we felt as if we were actually there.

Our first exploration took us to a sacred temple, where Egyptian priests “welcomed” us. Yahya, fascinated, observed every movement of the priests, their richly decorated garments and the colorful frescoes on the walls. He whispered in my ear, “Dad, it feels like we’re really here!” Seeing his wonder filled me with joy.

We then discovered a royal tomb, a place full of mystery and respect. In the center of the room was a statue of a black cat, symbolizing the goddess Bastet. Yahya was impressed by the mystical aura that surrounded the scene. He remained silent, absorbed by the solemn atmosphere, as if he felt the weight of the story unfolding before us.

The culminating experience was our ascent to the top of the Pyramid of Cheops. The panoramic view of the desert and the Nile in the distance was breathtaking. A celestial ship, symbolizing the journey to the afterlife, appeared before us, adding a mythical dimension to our adventure. Yahya, standing next to me, watched in awe trying to grasp every detail of this epic scene.

When the experience was over, we removed our helmets, a little taken aback by the return to reality. Yahya was silent for a moment, probably still in shock from what he had just experienced. Then, he looked at me with a big smile and said, "That was incredible, Dad! I want to know more about the pharaohs and the pyramids." That sentence alone was worth all the gold in the world.

As we left the Montreal Science Centre, we discussed what we had seen and learned. Yahya had a thousand questions, and I was happy to discuss them with him. This visit, much more than a simple outing, had awakened in him a passion for history and ancient civilizations.

This moment shared with Yahya will remain etched in my memory as one of the most beautiful father-son moments. The immersive experience in ancient Egypt had not only enriched our knowledge, but it had also strengthened our bond, giving us the opportunity to live an extraordinary adventure together.

My dear professor @kouba01

Glad to know that you came with your beloved son Yahya to a place where this relic of ancient Egypt was on display, there was a certain curiosity and Yahya ran towards the display. It was indeed a very good moment that you spent and one of the most precious moments of your life. They are there in Egypt and there is no doubt that people there are always trying to discover because what Egypt is is an ancient heritage and people are always trying to find something out of what is there and always. New things and new memories that are allowed and always exploring. Your son will become a great explorer and I pray.
