Wet Humid Cloudy NYC Today Warm Outlook
Good morning everyone. As discussed, today is going to be a little bit more active than yesterday in the NYC area. We'll have an increased chance of rain, as well as strong to possibly severe storms later on towards late afternoon/evening. Meanwhile, once we get all of this schmutz out of here, we could possibly see a pivot towards a summer-like pattern; which is nice because it's almost summer.

Another wave approaching the area later, could touch off some heavier action; but we'll have to keep a close look at the radar to see what the setup is. Highs today a humid low 70's, if that.
Tomorrow, we could see a few peeks of sun between the cloud cover, but we could have another chance of rain later on in the day. Today is definitely the more active of the two, but we could see a shower at any time tomorrow, so keep that in mind. We'll also be warmer tomorrow, with highs in the upper 70's to low 80's - cooler at the shore.
On Thursday and Friday, we'll be watching the radars again to see the setup and positioning of our last couple of waves before this pattern comes to an end. Highs both days are looking like upper 70's to low 80's (cooler at the shore), but it's too early to time out the rain chance yet.
The light at the end of the tunnel should come some time late Friday as everything finally moves away; paving the way for at minimum, a nice Saturday. As of now, Saturday is looking like the easiest forecast, with partly cloudy skies at worst, full sunshine at best; highs in the upper 70's to low 80's, maybe even all the way to the beach.
Sunday may also shape up to be a nice day with low 80's, but I want to wait and see how the boundaries work out with a warmer and more humid airmass moving close.
In the long range, we continue to keep an eye on the prospect of generally warmer and more humid air building up either early next week or midweek next week. I'm going to stop short of any heatwave talk, but we are at least looking warmer, possibly more sun, and more of a summer-type pattern with some days containing afternoon storms or early morning showers followed by warm/humid days.
If things work out, we could see more mid to upper 80 days thrown into the mix; and for those who like 90, that's a possibility as well if the pattern fully lets go.
