This fight is a twelve rounder, for Usyk's WBC/IBF/WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles. The winner walks away with everything and the loser walks away with nothing, well except a very healthy pay check. Bellew is moving down from heavyweight after being the two time conquer of former heavyweight world champion David the haymaker Haye, a fight in which he was given little to no chance of winning, but his indomitable spirit proved all the doubters wrong including myself, and he walked away with two victories.
Bellew is the underdog in this fight, it has been a common theme in Bellews long hard career, always the underdog, always being doubted, his ability always being questioned. Just another day at the office for Tony Bellew.
This is Usyk's first time defending his undisputed world title, and all credit to him, he has chosen a very good opponent to defend against, most guys try to get a couple of easy fights for their first defences, but then Usyk has proven that he isn't most guys.
In only his 6th professional fight he became the WBO world champion, not wanting to rest on his laurels, he then starting hunting down the other title holders in his division. And with only 15 professional fights on his record, he became the undisputed world champion. If the unconventional has worked wonders for you to this point, then why would you try to be conventional? Usyk, the champion, has agreed to fight in his opponents backyard, can't get much more unconventional than that.
You can never really rule Tony Bellew out of a fight, the guy doesn't know the meaning of quit or can't, its just not in his vocabulary, but I favour Usyk in this fight. Younger, faster, stronger and more skilled. It should be a good enjoyable fight that could possibility go the distance, although i wouldn't rule out a knockout on either side.
