Literary Video of the Day – The only surviving video footage of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes (Interview, 1930)

This is pretty neat. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a British writer, best known for his detective novels featuring Sherlock Holmes. There's only one known surviving piece of video footage and it's this 1930 interview with William Fox. He talks about how he began writing Sherlock Holmes (“I began to think of turning scientific methods, as it were, onto the work of detection”), the characters popularity, and then his newfound interest in psychic matters and the study of spiritualism.
