Every Book, Every Volume You See Here, Has a Soul.

in #books6 years ago

Carlos Ruiz Zafon wrote in The Shadow Of The Wind, “Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens.”

The passion which fills me during the day and night is reading books with different genres and interesting themes. I started actively reading five years ago when I got and read the book Metamorphosis, Franz Kafka, as a recommendation from my brother. Since then, special kind of interest about books woke up inside of me which was continuously encouraging me to continue.

It taught me that various values in family, and society, in general, are becoming less appreciated. The main character, Gregor Samsa, was presented as a crawling and useless bug, rejected by his family, just because he was different. The importance of this work is shown in the idea of how society expects us to adjust to a weird sense of 'be as everyone else' quote and the way how Gregor reacts to it. Simply, by being who he actually is, no matter what happens. One sheep might go from its' group. Society will most probably label it as a rebel sheep, or the lost one. But as much as the sheep is lost, by the time, it will find its new herd and Sheppard who will accept with all its values.

However, sharing the experience and thoughts about the books with friends gives me a better picture of the works and wider understanding of themes which are usually connected to the daily life. This is the book which I would definitely recommend, with a small advice to discuss it with friends because we can understand it better.
What do you think about this? How did you feel about some of the books you have read?
