Why They Urge you to Eat Swine
Before, I get into this chapter I would like to speak on the title. From a personal perspective I would say the only person/people that have urged me to eat swine would be my parents when it was given to me as a child. Who taught them to eat swine? I had friends growing up that was not allowed to eat swine but it never dawned on me why. Most of the time I could link the decision back to their religion. I wanted to state that before getting into this chapter and learning what exactly he means when he say “they”

Elijah Muhammad stated that the pig is a slow- death poisonous animal is not worthy for human consumption. The pig is a beneficial animal to mankind. It has good medical benefits it is just good for the health when used as food. Eating pork also make you age ungracefully.
It is also the character of the pig that cause it to be forbidden to eat. You ever heard the saying, “you are what you eat.” That is the case with the pig. In Islam food that is slaughtered has to meet several requirements to be halal. Food that is bad for your character and/or health are basically not to be consumed.
“Khanzier” meaning hog or swine in Arabic is broken down Khan= I see and Zier means foul. This animal lives off filth and 99.9% of the animal is poisonous. Yet the food derived from the pig does have a distinct taste that will have you craving it like pepperoni, bacon, pork chops, ribs, candy etc… It is the knowledge that you have to rely on because if you didn’t know and were raised up eating pork you would find it hard to stop eating swine.
If you eat pork that has not been treated correctly you can get pork worms in your intestines. That will harm you more than the relief you get from the meal. The worms can use your spinal cord to find itself into your brain causing further more damage.
In this chapter the author ask the reader to stay clear from swine. Elijah Muhammad also states that if you are suffering from diabetics to stay away from sugar and starch. Along with that start to eat one meal a day.

I asked a Muslim what is the meaning of not eating pork and he explained the same thing to me. It is not that they have something against pork meat but they consider it unhealthy, including with all that what you said there

Pigs are not a filthier or a dumber animal than a dog and are certainly smarter than a chicken.
I would agree that eating pork is bad, but so is eating any meat. It's not very healthy, but more importantly I personally see it as immoral. In my opinion, it's immoral to kill and eat other sentient beings when you can survive fine without doing so.
