Stop apologizing for Slavery

We all heard the complaint from Africans around the globe. We well fairing countries need to pay for the slavery that happened in their countries centuries ago. We white scum have abused their populations for ages and we white slave trader offspring need to pay up.

I believe people and in general politicians should speak up and tell the true history of slavery. Where it originated and how it came to be one of the dark chapters in Europe and Americas history. We need to have some objective numbers and some true statements. Not these political correct answers. Truth is important.

Slavery existed far before the written word. But back in those times it where mostly neighboring tribes who took slaves from there conquests. Back in Roman times it where conquered regions who became slaves to the romans. Mostly Mediterranean and Europeans where enslaved by the Romans. In Africa nearly one third of the population was enslaved by the Islamic state, so by Arabs and not Europeans. In those times the Europeans had no slaves.

There was nearly no slavery in Europe between the 1000’s and 1400’s. Because of Christianity. It was only around 1450 that the pope gave the right to the Spanish Inquisition to take the Muslim conquerors as slaves.

So slavery was only present in Europe between 1450 and 1850. Because in the 1840’s two acts where signed to abolish slavery in Europe. In the Americas there was slavery from the colonial age just until the 1860’s

So why do we Europeans need to keep on apologizing for slavery when in essence it are the Arabs and the Native Africans who enslaved them the longest. We Europeans only had slaves for around 200 years. While the Arabs had slave trade from the times of their prophet around the 400’s until 1900’s.

And the final note. Should we pay for the sins of our great great great great grandfathers?
