Nearly Every Single American Was Affected by a Security Beach this Year

You all must be aware of the Equifax data breach, right? It is considered t0 be one of the biggest security breaches in the recent history since it affected over half of the citizens of the United States. However, it looks like a security breach of a similar magnitude has emerged.

According to a security researcher, nearly every single American was affected by a security breach earlier this year when a marketing firm called Exactis' database was sitting on a public server. The firm, just like any other marketing firm, collects consumer data in order to refine the accuracy of targeted ads.

The leaked data includes people’s phone numbers, home, and email addresses, interests, age, gender, etc. Although the credit card info and Social Security number don't seem to be leaked, the magnitude of the leak is still significantly large.
