Facts & Stories about Orange the word

in #blog6 years ago

Many of us know that the colour orange is named after a fruit. But do we ever ponder where did it come from?
The name of the fruit is derived from its Indian(Hindi) name naarinj, that is pronounced as na(o)range or na(o)ring.

The story goes thus-
Arab traders, that used to provide Europe with products from India and the rest of the world, took a special interest in introducing the fruit to aristocrats and royals.Initially it was called by its original name in England ,but very soon the word 'a naarinj' become 'an orange '.
It is the same reason why the name of the fruit sounds similar in many languages.Later ,the colour orange was named because of its unique and peculiar looks.Even though the colour orange was used in the italian paintings from the early times ,the name orange has overtaken its previous names.Fruit-orange-hd-wallpaper.jpg
