How come would you want to build a labyrinth on your land? Will it first it was because they was just the hill everywhere along piece of Maryland with the hill then there was no flat spots anywhere so go to make a flat spot and then you know didn't really know why in the easiest way to make a flat spot on the hill is to make a circle so you take it out of the back and shovel it to the front and you pile up rocks in the front and that makes a circle so that's a good way of making a flat spot so after the flats vodka made their it was a big circle on the land and you know it was used for a lot of different kinds of things before that it was going to be
Who thought about that it was Lucy you thought up that should be a labyrinth because before that it was well it was a medicine wheel for a while and it was a star thistle patch for a while and it was a going to be a big adult swing set for a while you know but the main use was the medicine wheel before it got to be the Labyrinth and then it was kind of like what what should we do with this will you want to put some ground cloth down you know and then cover
Put some ground cover on and then it was okay it's got some ground cover on it and then it was like well and now what does a big circle with some gravel at least it's not going to grow start this as well it's nice and round let's make it into a labyrinth and that's what we did we went out and collected a bunch of rocks and we put them in the land
Lucy douse the land and saw where the turn should go backwards and forwards and that's what we did we made it into a labyrinth that one backwards and forwards and not just a spiral which is a pretty easy but one of those ones that's just unique for the actual place where it is and since then many many people have come and brought rocks to it and many many people have walked it and you know now we're a little bit less public-private then we used to be a little bit more private public then we used to be and so you know it doesn't get so much more but now
Walking in the spring when the weather is nice and that makes for a nice kind of a meditation and thinking about what is really going on in the moment
Is it the history of something that gives it its intrinsic meaning? The history itself is built into the object and reflects precisely and exactly that which is has experienced encountered and is made of. As a consequence of this any object the Labyrinth included contains its own history and from that point of view it could be questioned the value of telling its story.
The telling of the story transmits its meaning through the generations and makes the future Generations a message that contains the information of details surrounding any objects experience including the labyrinths
Objectifying diminishes meaning through reductionism and while it does this it also establishes a usefulness through generational knowledge and Technology who's purpose and ability is passed through the generations and augments itself as others add to it.
It's an existential dilemma that often ends with a feeling of helplessness and purposefulness less of life and living and this is paradoxical because it is truly adding to the understanding and only misses from the point of view of what the purpose of the experiencer is.
In some sense telling the history of something is redundant because the history is contained in the object and yet objectifying reduces the meaning and purpose of the experiencer this is the Paradox to be absorbed.
Right there are some trees and in the middle of those jokes some of which are the White Oaks and some of which are the black Oaks there are some dead Oaks that have yet to be cut down and you can tell what your dad easily even in the winter because the mistletoe that grows in them has died also
The White Oaks have the pointy leaves and the black Oaks have the rounded leaves and they all make acorns by the bazillions. Over there there's one of the black Oaks that has so much mistletoe on it that it could kill the tree you would think and maybe it will add to that cops of dead hoax there though mostly those are the White Oaks with the pointy leaves
The White Oaks grow bigger faster taller and don't seem quite so susceptible to the mistletoe but maybe not quite as resilient either as the black Oaks are though there's one right up here which I'm going to take a picture of that has an enormous amount of mistletoe in it.
That these points of consciousness and so it is that these points of consciousness observe make reductions and record direct experience that is then analyzed and collated into meaningful or supposedly meaningful or purposeful information that can be used for anything that people or other intelligent life forms might use it for.
