What is happening in the Steemit world?? 5 SBI shares up for grabs

First things first, last week I posted about political correctness looking to see what peoples thoughts and opinions were. To sweeten the pot I was offering up to 5 SBI shares depending on the participation to my post. True to my word and after receiving some fantastic responses I gave out five shares and the only trouble that I had was deciding where they would go. After re-reading the replies and thinking for a while I decided to give two shares out to @chekohler and a single share out to each of @screenwriterml, @dfroberg and @mattifer. Thanks for your brilliant and detailed responses.
My week on Steemit.
After spending another interesting week on Steemit I’m happy to see how things are progressing. For the past two weeks I have been pushing myself to engage more, comment more and see where it takes you. It’s led to some interesting conversations and showed me some new sides of Steemit that I never even knew existed. Most of this was inspired when I stumbled across “The Curation and Engagement Leagues”, run by @abh12345. It really opened my eyes to the levels of engagement that some people were putting into building their profiles and helping to keep other people motivated and building theirs. I’ve only just joined but I have to say that this one little initiative has motivated me to really step up my game. Have a look for yourself if you’re interested in getting more involved,
Now this is only one of many interesting projects going on right now. I’m sure that everybody has heard about the new steem-ua project that has just started. It’s made such a big impression in such a short space of time which to me says that people needed it. People weren’t happy with the old system and wanted something new, something better. So people went out and made something to do this. A system that takes peoples activities into account and judges on those factors.
Is it a better system? To be honest, I don’t know as it is too fresh to judge. I will need to see the results before I can tell. I do think that it’s better and support it to see how it works out but only time will tell.

What great initiatives are taking place that we should all know about?

I want to know, and I want other people to know. So with up to 5 shares of SBI up for grabs again I want you to let me know in the comments what is happening and why we should all be getting involved or following it...???
Personally, I like winning SBI shares as I think that they are a brilliant system. I like new apps, new developments, curation initiatives, communities ect.... Anything that adds value to the blockchain and to our experience on Steemit will be considered as long as you can explain why this is true. Best of luck and looking forward to hearing something new and out of the box.

What is going out there? Nothing much, since the steem price is dipping with its post payout, we are now seeing a huge decline of users, only the diehard loyalist and those who rely on Steemit for there basic income are presently found steeming all day and night.
What else is happening out there? Presently, everyone is catching the rave of the moment : Steem-ua, it's just too good to be true to finally see a platform that meant to correct some loopholes on Steemit. With the bussiness side of it which is delegation for upvote, this platform has finally come to stay. There is a lot to gain and nothing to loose with using Steem-ua. I've also noticed that when they upvote they leave a comment on how your blog could gets better. No one else does that.
What great initiatives are taking place that we should all know about? I don't know if you've heard of steempeak, they offers the best interface for Steemit presently and they are just too good at it, you can even schedule an Upvote on a post to wait till the curation time. It's very amazing. You should try them out.
What competitions are running? Steemfest, if you want to go to Steemfest free, there are competition you can enter, that's the best out there, others are rewarding in sbd and steem.
What can we get involved in? Many Innitiave coming up this days entails a lot of engagement, I actually found a way out, delegating, @cleanplanet, @steemhunt, @Steem-ua @dlike @air-con all have projects and rewards it's investors with tokens, I think the best thing to do now is delegating if you have the fund, then you passively receive reward.
What fixes are being put in place? Go to the Steemblogers page, you'll see the latest on HardFork 2.0. That's what is been put in place presently. 😁 😁 😁 😁.

I'm wouldn't be worried about the price right now unless I want to purchase a bit more sp. The price is only shadowing the bitcoin market and all the rumours in the media. I just don't see the price as a reflection of true value and looking three years down the line I think you can add a few zeros to what we have now. Anyone who believes there is a future for the steem blockchain should be looking long term rather than week to week. There are plenty shitcoins getting pumped and dumped for that kind of investment.
I like the concept of steem-ua as I think it should facilitate a need on the site. Needs that are being filled by new interfaces like steempeak and partiko. We are seeing solutions to the problems that users have been complaining about since my day one anyway.
I haven't heard about a few of the projects that you are delegating to but I will look into them when I get the chance. Especially the steembloggers page as I have an interest in all things steem dev related. I'm here for the long haul as I think the future is big so the more I can find out the better. Someday hopefully I can make it to dolphin and would love to see a million others joining and working their way up too. Anything that can help us to do it is useful. Thanks.

Hello Friend! activity in the community is a bit slow, because the price goes down and down. So I consider it a great moment to make an effort and enjoy the people, of great projects and helps.
I am also motivated by the work of @ abh12345.
There are other people who motivate like mister colin @sydesjokes with their faucet, @dosdudes with their continuous contests where you can win sbi and monster cards, the lottery of @miketr and @ lotto-australia.
Here a lot happens, so the steemit experience is always incredible.
I can see that the activity is down as well but hopefully not for long. Thanks to the great work of some of the app creators on the blockchain we will be looking at a lot more users in the next few months. You have a few interesting groups here for me to check out and i always like the opportunity to win SBI, i try for a few every week. Thanks for your answer.

All it shows is that some people are only in it for the cash. People driven by those goals rarely produce anything of quality. It is better if cash is only viewed as a sweetener.
Those people tend to come here with a false idea of the blockchain. Yes there is money to be made and a lot of it in some cases but that will be either through a lot of hard work or a big investment. Those people have given neither to the site. Where the money will be is when the value of steem rises to where it should be. That probably won't be for a few years so if you want to earn you need to be planning long term and set yourself up to capatalise when the time is right. I will be here until the end but if the price did get high enough I probably would sell some of my sp just to balance the accounts.

I tend to regard cash as a tool that will help me achieve my goals rather then the goal itself. likewise Steem, DPLs etc.
For me the goal was always to have enough money to live comfortably. As long as I have enough to cover my bills cover any expenses and live the lifestyle that I want I'm covered. 10 million in the bank would mean nothing to me. All I want is a round of golf and a few pints with my friends and life is pretty good. To be fair I'm not too bad with that but would like to get out of the job that's providing it right now. Something more enjoyable.

Well beer is always going to be cheep if you brew your own ...I do :D If, judging by your avatar, you are in Ireland you have the cheapest and best homebrew stores in the world. Part of the enjoyment of beer is the company and the bar itself which is harder to buy. The golf can be a little expensive though. Still your goals are simple and admirable.
The golf isn't that expensive, it's cheaper than a gym membership and a lot more fun for me. Plus it's always a great excuse to go for a few beers. I've never tried to brew my own but we do have lots of micro breweries in the area so there is always a great selection to be had. like you say, it all comes down to the company you keep.
i would like to buy that bar though. My friend and i have talked about it many times while at other bars.

Nothing much is happening in steemit. The only new project that I think got launched was steem-ua. Ok, one other thing that has been happening is that I've been posting consistently lately. Lol. And I also want the view counter to be brought back. There's just no way for one to tell if his work is getting the attention of other steemians. I think it's time steemit put the view counter in place
I do miss the view counter. It was always nice to see what was happening on a post and if it was people voting not just bots. But if your saying not much happening on steemit I'll have to disagree with you. There is so much happening right now and every day I find new and interesting projects to follow.

Really? i don't count the many icos and airdrops being posted as steemit projects. Steem-ua was the major buzz last week and I've not come across any other new innovative project. Maybe I'm not digging deep enough.
No i don't count ICO's for this but in the future i will be looking at any SMT's that are linked onto the blockchain. Just look at the hardfork beginning from today or check out this post by futureshock and see some of the things that i am optimistic about.

It does take a while to figure out what's happening on here but once you get into the right people it gets a lot easier. People tend to move in certain circles so if you can find a few good accounts they all tend to be linked with each other.

True, I think that steem-ua is the biggest project right now. It was complicated and has a lot of backing behind it. I was also following along with the steem blast day and took part in certain arts of it . I'm not sure how successful it was but anything that raises the profile of the blockchain ca only be a good thing. I've started seeing fundition popping up a bit lately but haven't looked at it properly. It's one i'll have a glance at soon.
If you haven't yet then @steem-monsters is absolutely something you should check out. It has exploded on Steemit with some of the digital cards being sold of a price of upwards of $3000 USD.
I've been following steem monsters since the beginning but I never had any interest in in for myself. It was more to see how the project would fare out and from what I can see its doing fairly well so far. Hopefully it can keep up the progress. One for the future anyway.
