Is Africa really a Shit Hole

President Donald Trump recently referred to African Nations and other countries of the world were refugees and immigrants come from to United State of America as Shit Hole Nations.
Let me share my views on the matter with you. Firstly, this is not an angry reaction to what President Trump said neither is it an anti government speech aimed at undermining any government in Africa or any part of the world, but rather this is an unbiased opinion on the subject matter (['Shit Hole Nations']) (https://www.google.com/search?q=Donald+Trump+speaking&client=ucweb-b&channel=sb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiGgL7sgO_YAhWJS98KHXS1ADgQ_AUICigB&biw=535&bih=769#) Can I just say that President Trump has no right to refer to Africa or any part of the world as Shit hole though he may be right in stating so? How is he right! Let’s use a typical example where it is considered 'racist' for a white guy to call an African American 'Nigga' but considered a mode of greeting or seen as a friendly gesture when called same by another African American. We, Africans say a lot of ill things about ourselves and consider it normal but forget we're giving others the impression that they can but when someone else does we flare up. However, President Trump has no first hand experience of what people go through daily in Africa and other 'Shit hole' Nations so he has no right to label us this. But as a member of a Shit hole and an experienced one I guess I have been given permission to talk about this Shit Holes.
Several African leaders were quick to condemn President Trump for what he allegedly said but the truth is Trump was right and they know it. But what better way to cover up their own faults and flaws than to accuse a loud mouth who talks a lot. This time he said the truth, Africa is a massive and Messy Shit Hole and our leaders and some of us in the Shit Hole are to blame. (Still not trying to sound offensive).
I would really love to talk about all the countries in Africa but it'll take a lot of typing and time because there's a lot to write about but I'll just pick one country and use as an example. The “Giant of Africa” called Nigeria, my country. I'll try not to embarrass my country but just to expose some loop holes that needs to be fixed.
I'll start by drawing your attention to the most recent case of the killing of over 70 persons, women and children included in the Benue state mass genocide by the Fulani herd's men. In cases such as this you would expect the President to be quick to intervene and probably travel to visit and condole with the affected families but the reverse is the case here, isn't that enough to refer to us as a shit hole nation?
Take a look at our Political system, political parties with no Agendas and we have over 65 of them and some of them are even looking for government to start allocating funds to help fund their agenda of grooming criminals to steal from us. A system where 80% of it's eligible voters don't believe in Partisan politics and the 20% that do have no idea what their political parties stand for. A political system that has failed in delivering the essence of democracy to it's citizens and you find political parties who cannot call party winners to order when they deviate from the party's agenda for the people. I could go on and on but let me pause here and move on to something else.
A man was lamenting recently of how he had witnessed a motor accident involving a family of five, a man, his wife and their three little kids. He watched the car summersault several times and luckily the family were some how still alive. So the next thing to do was to rush the family to the hospital but instead of doing that Nigerians were busy taking pictures of the scene and no one agreed to help this man convey this family to the hospital, no one refused to donate their car even a government convoy at the scene refused to help. The father died at the scene and if not for some road safety officials who came to the rescue, the whole family would have died on the scene. Understand that we do not have numbers that respond to emergencies and if they are available are they working? So we are more interested in posting pictures and keeping the seats of our cars free of blood stains than save a life. You would think that a country with one of the highest number of professors in the world investing in Education would be where it's Major budget allocation would go but instead we have an educational system where it's tertiary institutions are on strike over 30% of the time within the last 15-20 years. A system that is currently on strike since the later part of 2017 till this day. And here I thought investing in educating the younger generation is the key to every growing economy in the world, well maybe I'm wrong.
Our power sector is a story for another day as I've had to put off my typing severally cos we have been in a blackout for over 3weeks now. Nigeria is currently West Africa's biggest producer of petroleum with an estimated 2 million barrels per day(Wikipedia), yet fuel prices hike everyday and the poor masses can no longer afford it. Our leaders sit upstairs not being affected by any of these are quick to respond to President Trump but they can't move fast enough to come to the aid of it's citizens. I think they should stop speaking for us, they should stop organizing protests and start working towards changing the situational. President Trump has stated a fact, he has shown us we are a long way to go so I think we should stop complaining and start making sure no Trump can ever open his mouth to call Africa a Shit Hole again in the future.
