Cycling from coast to coast in the UK - 153 miles, 15,000 feet, 3 days

I wanted to share with you another cycling challenge that I have completed. This one is the English Coast To Coast challenge which is a cycle from the west coast of England to the east coast. This takes in only 153 miles, but over 15,000 feet of climbing. The four of us decided to do this over 3 days.
To complete this, you either have to take all your gear with you or get a support vehicle to move your gear every day. As we all wanted to use our road bikes (that didn't have pannier racks), we decided to hire a company to support us throughout.
The ride encompasses quite a few of the more challenging climbs in the UK; Hartside Pass and Crawleyside Bank are a couple of beasts.
Of course, we had a great time, the weather on day 2 was pretty poor, but we managed it (and Ian and I only got lost once when we were separated from the other guys). Much fun was had and would love to try to do this again in 2 days instead of 3.

I am sure you had so much fun, and it keeps you fit at the same time. How was the weather? Did you get any rain? :)
The second day was pretty horrible. Had quite a bit of rain. So much so that when we got lost, I couldnt use the touchscreen on my phone to work out where we were. Needless to say, i'm now the owner of a Wahoo ELEMNT - a proper cycle computer.
Hah hah, if not for the rain you would not have the gadget to play with. I am sure it was not that much fun during the rain, but usually it is exactly what remains in memory after some time as the best moments. The moments that were the hardest.
Sounds exciting but challenging. The 15,000 feet of climbing would give me pause before starting for sure. Having the support company seems like it was a solid idea.

I am tired just thinking about it. Lol but it sounds like a cool thing to do and I bet You guys got to see a lot of amazing places. 🤔
