In 2013, there have been survey by V. C. Muller and N. Bostrom that asked around hundreds of AI experts what are chances of achieving strong AI and when. Check the results:
Median optimistic year (10% likelihood): 2022
Median realistic year (50% likelihood): 2040
Median pessimistic year (90% likelihood): 2075
So far publicly artificial intelligence won against smartest chess player and recently beats smartest Go players.
