Saving private Amy...prt1
Is this stupidity, or genius? Amy mused.
As Amy flicked through a very glossy women's lifestyle magazine, she notice the ad because of it's peculiarity.
It made absolutely no sense, for starters.
'Very amateur,' She thought to herself.
She was very critical of advertisements in magazines. It was her job to create ads and she was good at it. Exceptional in fact.
She was critical of other peoples work, and her own worse critic.
This pressured her to always try for better, and to always strive for perfection.
These qualities laid the foundations for her own company worth millions, a successful career, and more than anything that a woman aged thirty two, could possibly wish for.
She also new that wasn't entirely true either.
Maybe this was why the ad had caught her attention? The message?
Quickly dismissing that as the reason for keeping her focus, she looked at it more closely.
There were untold ads in this market sector, looking much better than this one.
There was no new message.
The latest self help book offering happiness, wealth, relationships, and fantastic sex lives were presented much better than this could ever hope to be.
This add was 'off' for some reason, and she quite couldn't put her finger on it at first.
The font, spacing, typeset, colors and photo were all very unprofessional.
(which she found strange in of itself. Placed in such an expensive, upmarket lifestyle magazine it stood out even more for it's amateur-ishness).
As she read over it once more, it hit her why it didn't 'come across' correctly.
It was a advertisement - to begin with - but then a kind of job application as you continued reading down, and then morphing into offering some course or other and asking for money.
None of it worked. Bu it did work...
...And she was more than aware that she had been sucked in the advertisers world.
She rarely got sucked into other advertisers psychology nowadays.
She was a professional and she knew all the tricks in the book, which brought her back to thinking about this ad that she was now looking at.
Stupid, or genius?, she asked to herself, yet again.
She decided to type the website address in her browser. She wanted to find out more about this strange presentation.
Always keeping her astute eye on changing trends in advertising, it was her job - as well as more than a little intriguing.
As she clicked on the site, the application form was there, staring back at her.
"What he hell...?" She murmured to herself, a little surprised. It was not what she had expected.
She continued reading...
