Jedi fiction compared to Jedi realism - Lessons from the Force by Baru

Let's explore the difference between Star Wars fiction fans vs people who practice the ideals of Jedi. No matter how much I appreciate the material, I know that the books and movies are fiction. Most of this material is created to entertain the participants. In general, it is not created to help improve people's lives.

Now, a reality check for people that enjoy the fiction and Jedi realism - we are on Earth, in this present moment. Our reality is bound by limitations, rules, failures, and imperfections. We don't have lightsabers, yet. At this time, there is no universal temple nor a central Jedi group. We are not the Jedi of the movies and pretending that we make us does not equate that we are (however it can help. Role-playing is a great way to learn through emulation.)

Fiction is an amazing source of inspiration. The imagination is a powerful tool for learning and expanding the mind's acceptance of alternative perceptions. Use fiction to inspire an inspirational life, and avoid either getting distracted by fiction or disapproving of reality because it does not "match up". Focus on the qualities that you want to emulate and life in life. Make the fiction real - for you.

Now if you want to be a Jedi Realist, know that you can wear your cultures clothes and do things that improve life for all. Post about what you are actually doing to be a Jedi here on Earth. Post about your meditation or how you trained, or write about how making a ceremonial hilt reminds you how to be. Tell us about your insight or questions about how to become a better person. Teach about what you are learning through this process of emulating a fictional Jedi to make it a reality for you.
