How to use your suffering for your inner flowering..?

in #blog6 years ago (edited)

All of us suffer in life due to various reasons and there is no escape from it, no matter what we do. Pain is inevitable and important. It's one of the fundamental blocks on which life is built. If it wasn't there, there would be no impetus for us to push harder and move forward in life. I know it's easy to say this and it really feels hard while suffering, but what I also know is that your pain is the grace in disguise, that can help you find the real meaning and joy of life.

How?

Let's first discuss, why.. Why do we suffer?

Like everything else in the world, Suffering is transient. As the happiness comes and goes, so does the pain. But suffering is more prominent in human psyche than happiness. And it's because we exaggerate it by closing our heart for the pain we feel while suffering. It looks so heavy that we don't want to feel it and accept it as a part of life. Challenging the intelligence of life, We do everything on our part to escape from it and stick to our tiny and limited self-perception. We try to control the situation, indulge in over-thinking, drink alcohol, take drugs, watch television, seek company of others to forget about it and you know there are zillions of escapes. This is what I think is one of the greatest reason for exaggerated human suffering on the earth. Isn't it?

If you know it is, then it becomes easy to understand how to deal with it. Human Suffering is a sign to look for what we've have closed our hearts for. If we self examine honestly and open our heart for the inner turmoil by experiencing it, then, magically, the transformation takes place and the door opens for the new dimensions of life. In that very experiencing, the problem starts dissolving and new insights comes in. Psychology terms this phenomenon as 'Conscious suffering'. I learned it from my grandmother. It means to experience the painful thoughts and emotions consciously and let them pass through our consciousness willingly, by opening our heart. It requires a complete let go and trust in the life. If we do that, the very suffering that spoils our life transforms into grace.. all the doubts about misery of life vanishes and an unimaginable joy takes over.
But, instead of using pain as a stepping stone to move forward in life, we tend to push it down in the hidden corners of psyche, so that we can not see it anymore. In a way, We try to hide ourself from ourselves. And, then the vicious cycle of suffering takes over, which hovers around our heads our whole lives.

What do you think in this regard? Have you ever experienced your pain fueling your inner growth? Instead of ignoring and resisting it, have you ever tried to welcome it as a gift of life? I'd love to hear your views.
