Tips & Tricks (Make your 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM) # Part 1
Introduction
Hello steemian, Today I am going to tell you about someting amazing about our PC/Laptop RAM. Usually we buy RAM to use on our PC or inbuild RAM of laptop that may be 500MB/1GB/2GB/4GB/8GB/16GB or more. There is a option that we can take some space from our Hard disk and make a virtual RAM space. We can create 8GB total if we have 4GB RAM, we can create 16GB RAM if we have 8GB RAM.

How RAM work
RAM means Random Access Memory. When we open/start an application it take some space on RAM to run it. After that if we start another application then it take another some space to RAM. Now if we Run some more application together by minimizing it, then it take a huge space on RAM. If RAM filled its full space then the operating system start to hang for a while.
Make your RAM double
There is some application which take a huge amount of space on RAM to run like adobe photoshop, CAD. So if we set a virtual RAM space on our hard disk then we can run our application more smoothly. Now follow the step to make a RAM space double.
- Click right button on My computer.
- Select properties.
A windows page will show up.
- At the left side list select Advance system settings. A windows box will open up.
- Select Advance Tab.
- Click Settings button showed on screenshot. A new windows box will open up.
- Select Advanced tab.
- Click Change on virtual memory option
There you will see a checkbox is checked mentioned Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
- Uncheck this checkbox.
Then the custom size portion will enable.
Select Custom size. There on initial size put the amount of your RAM size with MB. Messure 1GB=1024MB. So if you RAM is 4GB then put the amount 4x1024 = 4096MB and set Maximus size with double amount of your RAM size. That means if your RAM is 4GB then put the amount of 8GB RAM, 8x1024 = 8192MB.
Click Set at right middle side of the windows box.
That’s it. You just added more extra 4GB RAM to your PC. Now you have total 8GB RAM space, you got double RAM space to use.
