This is a proposal to appoint (by funding) Hanni Abukhater as Project Coordinator.

Hanni is a mechanical engineer by training with experience in control systems, software, and project management. Dan and Arlyn interviewed him and are excited about his involvement in the project. Prior to this proposal being finalised, he has stepped in voluntarily to assist in many respects, which has been a great help.

Role description
This position entails wide-ranging tasks which may include, but are not restricted to:

  • Communicating project progress and updates with the community
  • Prioritizing tasks and focusing efforts on these tasks
  • Developing a sustainable structure in which the project is able to grow and build upon
  • Establishing a widely distributed contributor base
  • Synchronizing community driven efforts and maintaining a network society culture

Funding scope
This proposal is to fund Hanni’s first three months of work.
These three months are a provisional period, which will give Hanni an opportunity to learn about the project and to start to put in place various tools and processes, and to form relationships. A shorter period would both put the security of his income at risk and unnecessarily reduce his ability to show what he wants to do for the project.

Salary

  1. A fixed amount of 100 BLOCK/month
  2. A variable amount of $2500/month at the BLOCK price at the time of submitting a proposal

Background & how to vote

The Blocknet governance community voting system has been implemented. Each month a Superblock of up to approximately 4,320 Blocks will be created. The creation, use and distribution of this Superblock will be voted on by the community via community proposals. New Superblocks of 4,320 Blocks will be created approximately every subsequent month. Submission of a proposal costs 50 BLOCK which will be added to every proposal to be reimbursed if successful. This value is subject to review at a later date. This deters spam and stops unfeasible proposals from being submitted. In order for a proposal to pass there are two requirements, at least 10% of active service nodes must vote and “yes” votes must have a majority.

The process of voting takes place in the Service Node wallet. To see all current proposals go to the debug console of the Wallet-QT and type “mnbudget show” or enter the terminal and type “blocknetdx-cli mnbudget show”. The proposal-hash for each open proposal can be seen here. To vote, go to the debug console of the Wallet-QT and type “mnbudget vote proposal-hash yes/no”, or enter the terminal and type “blocknetdx-cli mnbudget vote proposal-hash yes/no”. (Replace the words “proposal hash” with the actual hash and then choose either yes or no). Hit return and your vote will be registered.

To submit a new proposal, please post it here: http://blocknetdx.forumotion.com/f3-self-funding-proposals using the following template:
