Unibright’s Recap from the Crypto Economy World 2018

The Crypto Economy World and the IoT Solutions Congress took place at Fira Barcelona, and wrapped up on October 18th. The talks ranged from how capital can be raised in the USA with REG D to sharing energy data to enhance building valuations, and topics covered many issues, offerings and opinions about the fast moving blockchain and IoT industries. The Unibright team left Barcelona with promising leads, full confidence in our offer, valuable insight on the IoT and emerging tech industries, and excitement about what the future has to bring.

The conference gave an opportunity for blockchain and IoT industry experts around the world to learn, collaborate, and find potential synergies for their respective companies. This year, Unibright had the pleasure of participating with NEM as certified service providers. Being side-by-side with NEM’s team members brought us many instrumental perks during the conference. Those who approached our booth could immediately sense the synergy between NEM and Unibright. Potential clients who were interested in NEM’s blockchain for their business(es) were unsure about how to implement the ledger into their existing system and apply it to their current business processes. Being at the conference allowed us to explain that our blockchain integration service helps companies with a seamless blockchain on boarding process into their current systems. No coding-skills needed, no developers required, and full usability at their fingertips.

Despite the contrarian market conditions and overall sentiment among cryptocurrency enthusiasts, the interest in blockchain from tech and IoT companies has not slowed down one bit. Actually, most companies are hesitant to go all in on blockchain purely due to uncertainty and lack of awareness. Even though there are dozens of articles and reports online about how blockchain benefits several use-cases within companies, there still seems to be a discrepancy between the knowledge shared and the knowledge actually getting across to the Heads of Innovation/CTOs of traditional companies. Many SMEs and large companies sit on the sidelines waiting for fully-functional products to be released, expecting crystal clear benefits for their clients and companies. Once companies see the release of stellar solutions and stable products, we expect them to confidently implement blockchain-based services. This is why it’s crucial to educate and spread awareness to the right types of businesses that truly need blockchain for their specific sectors.

When coming to the conference, we planned to engage companies offering IoT solutions and find a way for the Unibright Framework to bring them substantial benefits. We could see they had some awareness about blockchain, so we took that opportunity to explain who we are and why we’re unique. Companies were intrigued by the fact that blockchain integration doesn’t have to be a tedious and costly process. This raised a lot of interest in the framework and excitement for Unibright’s upcoming product Demo. We believe that any trepidation will disappear once they get a “feel” for the Unibright Framework.

While our main aim was to meet potential clients and spread awareness about Unibright, there were a few other key takeaways from the conference

Many people are still interested in market speculation and whether fluctuating prices would directly affect mass adoption
Even though the sentiment and hype in the cryptocurrency space is currently low, companies from all over the world are still seeking partnerships, sharing knowledge, developing, and hunting clients.

It was evident that IoT has greatly accelerated in the last decade. The IoT Solutions Congress section was extremely packed, and we overheard many passionate conversations on the topic. We could see companies in awe of big players such as Google, Vodafone and Microsoft showcasing their most recent developments.

Many companies do want to implement blockchain in their current systems and demonstrated great interest in blockchain-integration solutions.

Most importantly, no other company at the conference offered a product like the Unibright Framework.
