TOP Network Testnet 2.0 Goes Live, Embracing Dapps on Smart Contracts

As Chinese search engine giant Baidu gained world’s attention on Valentine’s day to launch Baidu Blockchain Engine (BBE), an operating system simplifying the commercial deployment of blockchain applications, Dapps, the essential bridge between the underlying technology and end users, hold up the potential for the applications of the distributed ledger technology. Having validated the key technologies for our public chain upon the launch of Testnet 1.0 last October, TOP Network has set Dapps as the priority in the progress from the nascent prototype to Testnet 2.0, an enhanced descendant paving the way towards our ready-to-go Mainnet.

What’s new on Testnet 2.0?

So far, our Testnet 1.0 has handled over 80 billion test transactions, the highest TPS hitting 8,664. The confirmation time for general transaction is less than 1s. After five months of intense work, our development team finally released Testnet 2.0, adding a group of autogenous functions like high-parallel PBFT consensus, smart contracts and more efficient gossip protocol to improve stability and interoperability. Another notable achievement is the launch of BitVPN, world’s first decentralized VPN, and our decentralized VPN service network that allows developers to easily build their own applications.
