Kakao to launch Blockchain Subsidiary
Kakao is the most popular messaging apps from South Korea. It was formed from a merger of Daum Communications and Kakao. Kakao is going to launch a Blockchain subsidiary tentatively named “Kakao Blockchain” and is planning to launch Initial coin offering. For your information, KakaoTalk and KakaoPay have a 90% penetration in messaging and fintech markets in South Korea.
Interestingly, Conducting ICO is illegal in South Korea now. They will conduct ICO outside South korea most probably Singapore or Hong Kong. Kakao Coin will be used for different kakao related services like Kakao Talk, Kakao Driver or Kakao Games. More Info
Following successful launching of ICO of KIk messenger, Now some messaging platfor are interested in Blockchain technology. It is rumored that Secret messaging app Telegram already collected whopping $1.6 billion in a private investment party. Telegram ICO will be the biggest ICO in 2018.
