ProximaX -- The Complete ToolBoox

in #blockchain4 years ago
Anyone who has once worked on systems be it electrical or mechanical, always have something they are not telling. Mechanical Engineers most especially will never tell you this dirty little secret, that when they work on mechanical systems sometimes they don't have the time or resources to source and make use of the right tool.

Yes, they get the job done, but on the contrary, it's always at the cost of replacement parts, injuries or damaged pride. What engineers fail to recall, lie in the fact that, the additional time and money needed to invest in replacement parts is often higher than the one needed to just get the right tool in the first place.

Before one embarks on any task, it is always necessary to answer the following questions;

  1. Do I know what tools are required?
  2. Do the tools I need exist?

The blockchain universe has tremendously expanded and as it stands, it has gradually eaten into the various sphere of our ecosystem. Despite it being regarded as an innovative tech when it comes to its development, it is still faced with a similar challenge to that of our mechanical system, as projects are no longer built to contain the ideal tools to meet the needs of its users. Exposing Blockchain users to vulnerabilities in scale, security and privacy, and fraud.

Modern Blockchain projects, do not offer the right and complete tool for its users to develop applications. While some projects assure its users of transaction speed, others go for storage, streaming, identity and the list goes on and on. This, in turn, creates a very convoluted environment, because developers will now have to make a compromise with that blockchain project which doesn't meet their entire need and in most cases, may even want to switch between projects to meet their need.

With the way these projects are built, developers will at the end of the day go the extra mile to bring cohesion between the various development tools by even sourcing for other centralized services just to make everything work properly. All of these would be at the expense of cost and time.

Just as the key to building a solid mechanical system is using the right tools, so also is using the right infrastructures for your blockchain projects.

If we recall, I earlier started two questions that one needs to answer before embarking on any project.

So now, as a Developer before starting your next Big app what tools are required and do they exist?

No answer yet?

I was thinking of giving a hint to the answer but nay, I am already itching to let the cat out of the bag.

To begin with, these tools do exist and best of all, they exist in a complete toolbox called PROXIMAX.

PROXIMAX

The Complete TOoLBox

I call ProximaX that new guy every app developer and user would love to work with

ProximaX is a next-generation Integrated and Distributed Ledger Technology (“IaDLT”) development platform that assembles decentralized technologies in a manner that, the blockchain acts as the core to the tokenomics. In other words, it is a complete toolbox of decentralized technologies.

ProximaX completely solves the puzzle associated with blockchain ledger transactions, by making them flexible, easy to adopt and integrate, secure and faster, and cost-efficient.

The beauty of having a complete toolbox is that it becomes needless to source for other tools outside the box; thus saving time and cost. A toolbox of this nature gives developers an added advantage to create apps that could give apps like Facebook, Instagram, Steemit, Dtube, Twitter, Youtube a good run for their money.

No matter how out of the World your app idea maybe be, ProximaX has an easy-to-use application and service development platform that would bring your idea back to the World and even to reality.

The ProximaX Advantage

The ProximaX Sirius platform is of great advantage to both the blockchain-based network, and traditional centralized database. This implies that ProximaX Sirius has been designed in such a way that it's doesn't just need the needs of blockchain developers but also non-blockchain developers.

A distinctive feature of ProximaX Sirius is its ever-expanding ecosystem of diverse node actors, each providing their own unique services wrapped in an accessible application programming interface (“API”) through a set of software development kits (“SDKs”) and HTTP/S endpoints.

PROXIMAX SIRIUS ARCHITECTURE

The structure and Design Of Our Complete Toolbox

ProximaX Sirius Platform has a uniquely built architecture that provides blockchain-based infrastructural solutions. ProximaX Sirius combines; Blockchain - Storage - Streaming - Database - Consensus and opens us to an assurance of having a universal application development platform.

This framework is made of the combination of the blockchain protocol with off-chain and distributed storage, streaming, and database service layers

With the blockchain layer being the heart of the platform, it links the storage layer, streaming layer, database layer altogether to the center of the network.

Also, the Consensus ProximaX which makes use of multi-layered consensus protocols for every activity that occurs on the network.

Not forgeting Supercontracts, multisig, multilayer-multisig, pull transactions, aggregated transactions and cross-chain ability, the other advanced features that adds up to form its framework. The abstraction layer comprising of APIs and SDKs makes development greatly simplified and rapid.

This generally establishes a well-balanced ecosystem within the platform.

THE PROXIMAX SIRIUS CHAIN

The Box That Keeps The Tools Together

When we talk about SIRIUS CHAIN, we talk about the box that holds the tools of the ProximaX project together. The Sirius Chain functions as a base capable of setting the core services of the ProximaX project active.

The Sirius Chain is a blockchain protocol that holds all the sub-components together. And it used in accounting for all of the actions and events that occur within the ecosystem of core services.

Sirius Chain is denoted by a token called service unit, which allows every core service layer to duly have a certain level of representation on the blockchain with an intention. Service Units are smart contracts that are uniquely defined on a Sirius chain.

The Platform can now create a token economy framework tethered with node reputation using the service units that will, in turn, heighten the overall utility, performance, and security of the network.

The Sirius Chain is a fork of the NEM Chain, called Catapult, that has been improved to add some salient features to the network. Hence, regardless of the service (whether an extension or an application) you want to build vertically on top the Sirius Chain, the Catapult will make it extremely attractive.

Sirius Chain Consensus Algorithms

The Sirius Chain utilizes the most effective algorithm scheme known as the PoS (Proof of Stake) to enhance the node reputation system with regards to the node validating transactions. Also, a Proof of Greed(PoG) system, discourages a greedy node from charging high fees when validating each block.

What Sirius Chain Aims To Achieve

ProximaX has big plans. It thought ahead while developing the Sirius Chain to pass on the following goals;

A better Transaction - A transaction process that possesses the ability to be swift, secure and efficient.
A Solid Network - Through alluring incentives, it plans to encourage existing and new participants to expand and secure the network.
A Global Scaling - global scaling that includes a minimal resource footprint
An improved basic transaction type - It introduces a range of basic transaction types that launches cryptocurrencies beyond their core use of a payment system alone.
A Firm Framework - A framework that can withstand the addition of new core services and advanced application being created and deployed on it
Responsive Ability - The ability to be able to run on a broad range of devices, that includes mobile phones and IoT.

PROXIMAX CORE-SERVICES

What Our Complete ToolBox Brings to the Table

Built on top of the blockchain are the core services, that include blockchain, Sirius Storage, Supercontracts, Sirius Streaming, Sirius DataBase, Sirius Content review. Each of these core services is a separate platform that's has its own ecosystem and token economy that utilizes the blockchain protocol.

Sirius Storage & Supercontracts

Sirius Storage is a storage platform that does file storage via a DFMS (distributed file management system). The binary data is encrypted and split into smaller units. It is then stored across storage nodes (Replicators).

The Sirius Storage is also a repository for
super contracts.

Sirius Streaming

This is another platform on its own which comes in two forms.

  1. The Storage Streaming: This form involves a storage streaming where the data is pre-recorded on Sirius Storage and then streamed to different viewers. It makes use of the Sirius storage to store data, as the data comes from the storage nodes.

  2. The Live Streaming: This form involves live streaming where the data are recorded Live whilst being streamed live to viewers. It makes use of nodes that distribute and replicates data stream in real-time.

Sirius Database

This platform is optional, so when building an application that requires a database, one can make use of the Sirius Database to build a hybrid architecture while still utilizing core services of the public infrastructure. This service is not available to the public but rather it is a private-only service.

Sirius Content Review

Unlike the Sirius Database, The Sirius Content review is a public core service used by content managers to create a review process that is consensus-based on the entire network.

Platform Consumers and Applications

The Platform is readily available to consumers via the SDKs and REST APIs. As a result of the platform's core services of streaming and data storage, virtually any type of Application can be created on it. Developers can decide to build Applications that are fully decentralized, semi-centralized, or completely centralized via the SDK.

ProximaX core services can allow applications to be used directly or application built on its own platform to provide the core services to its own end users.

Application Onboarding

Application onboarding is key to every application owner that builds on top of the platform. The following core component features are available to application owners;

  1. Account - Identification infrastructure
  2. Namespace - A built-in plugin Domain representation of the business (just like a web domain name)
  3. Mosaic - A digital representation of an asset. It can represent anything be it a coin, a unique piece of an object, etc, etc.
  4. Metadata - An extension on the Sirius chain.
  5. Super contracts - Executable contract services on the Sirius chain.
Application Offboarding

To offboard an application, using supercontracts the offloading process becomes way simpler, the developer just need to close the Sirius drive, thereby making the code belonging to a supercontract residing in
Sirius Storage unavailable to the end-user.

USECASES

Usecase 1 - D-Fashionista

D-Fashionista is a blockchain-based fashion platform that gives its users up-to-date information and trending styles in the World of fashion. And with its online store, keeping up the fashion trend is no longer a problem. D-Fashionista has just combined live and on-demand fashion content with social media, trending news, fashion analytics, and e-commerce on its platform. With this expansion in content, the number of D-Fashionista users began to increase.

D-Fashionista was built on the ethereum blockchain and so far so good it hasn't really been easy for it to meet the needs of their end-users. When it's users were far lesser, it was easy for the network to keep up with transactions, meet up to scale and serve the needs of its user. When it's user increased, The platform began to struggle with scalability, speed of performing transactions especially when users try to purchase items from its online store, storing data, streaming data of large sizes and even live video streaming.

D-Fashionista was almost on the verge of collapsing and losing its user until ProximaX came into the picture.

D-Fashionista switched to ProximaX from the ethereum blockchain. ProximaX has been able to put an end to the issue of scalability and at this point, it has been cost-effective to the D-Fashionista team. Users of D-Fashionista are now being able to perform transactions with the speed of light, store and stream data of large sizes in the distributed service layers of ProximaX whilst ensuring security, transparency, immutability, irreversibility, and traceability.

Usecase2- David, The App Developer

David has been an app developer for years now, but up till now, he still had problems with sourcing for the right tools to make his application top notch. David just landed a big contract from one of the biggest sports elites in Nigeria, to create an application that is sport based. The app entailed Pre-recorded and live stream of matches from Leagues around the World, live score updates, sport news and a social media platform where football fans can interact and show support for their clubs. Integrating all of these might be very costly and time-consuming, and at the end of the day may not even yield the result that David expects. David sort to make a difference this time, a difference from other apps he has created, hence, he decided to go for the best toolbox - ProximaX. ProximaX having blockchain at its core, it can allow David to have all the special blockchain features on its app despite the fact that it is not a DApp and also integrate some of ProximaX core services into the app.

This way, David Just killed several birds with one stone.

TOKENOMICS

Defining common economic incentive frameworks for work done along with a reputation system has been the goal of the tokenomics and as for ProximaX, it has defined its own tokenomics based on

● Self-organization and synergy of rational behavior of system elements.
● Adaptability to adverse tactics and internal attacks.
● Fuel the use of the core services in the infrastructure
● Extendible infrastructure to facilitate plug-ins for the inclusion of additional core services.

TOKEN ECOSYSTEM

ProximaX based its token on two layers
i. Internal: This consist of;

  • ProximaX’s Native Token (XPX): This runs the blockchain layer and also consumers that want to make use of platform services pay with the XPX. XPX can be traded for the service unit through an automated inner exchange.

  • Service units: These units measure the number of services performed over the protocol. The different types of service units include Storage units (SO), Streaming units (SM), Supercontract units (SC) and Review units (RW).

  • Custom tokens (mosaics): Created by users to power the internal economy of a
    decentralized application (“DApp”)

ii. External: it is for solely end-consumers within the ecosystem. Any application supported by ProximaX can incorporate any payment method for its end-user payment.

Tokenomy Ecosystem

AUTOMATED INNER EXCHANGE

This is an exchange built on top of the Sirius chain to exchange the native token, XPX and defined service units. The need for an inner exchange arose so as to simplify the process of exchanging multiple internal tokens. This way, consumers can easily utilize the platform’s core services.
