The first blockchain application to highlight is a project to track the source of Australian sugar supplies. This tracking of sugar supplies is very important as more and more consumers demand that agricultural products should come from sustainable crops. Sugar producers that get involved in this blockchain traceability program will be able to receive economic premiums by demonstrating that their products satisfy the requirements of the final consumers.
The Australian government has granted $ 2.25 million Australian dollars to implement this important project to improve the sustainability and traceability of sugar supplies.
The second application has been the successful exchange of 17 tons of almonds to Europe completed by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia using blockchain technology.
