The logistics industry has developed rapidly in recent years. According to agency statistics, China's logistics industry currently accounts for nearly 40% of the global share, ranking first in the world for three consecutive years.

The logistics industry has a bright future, but at the same time, the hidden problems behind it are also worthy of our attention.

In the logistics process, product safety cannot be guaranteed, and packet loss, replacement and other phenomena emerge in an endless stream. On the other hand, coupled with each logistics company fighting each other, the interaction cost between enterprises is increased, and the interaction efficiency is low.

Because of this, many logistics companies choose to use blockchain technology to "escort" the logistics industry.

The IBM Institute for Business Value has conducted a survey of 202 transportation industry executives from 16 different countries. Among them, 14% of the first movers have used and invested in the blockchain, and 77% of the successors hope to use the blockchain in the next 1-3 years. The network is put into production.

In foreign countries, Maersk, the world's largest shipping company, has established a set of industry-based blockchain service platforms through cooperation with IBM. The use of this platform is expected to save US$40 billion in annual costs.

On November 15 this year, the world's retail giant Wal-Mart announced that it will launch the largest supply chain management blockchain system in history. The system is designed to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and make budgeting and planning easier for the company's logistics department.

The major foreign commercial giants are keeping up with the pace of the times and actively exploring the empowerment of blockchain and logistics. In China, the attempt of blockchain + logistics has already been done.

In March 2017, Alibaba and PricewaterhouseCoopers reached a cooperation and announced that they would use blockchain to create a transparent and traceable cross-border food supply chain.

Coincidentally, in November of the same year, Tmall International announced that it would upgrade the blockchain global origin traceability program, which will cover 3,700 categories and 14,500 overseas brands in 63 countries and regions around the world.

In addition, in August 2018, JD’s blockchain anti-counterfeiting traceability platform "BaaS" was officially launched. In this way, the raw material production, processing, logistics and transportation, and retail transactions of JD’s products will be on the chain to ensure all information The truthfulness and reliability.
