Patron: Revolutionising The Advertising Industry

We live in a dynamic world, no doubt. Everyday new machines (both physical and virtual) are created, altogether making it very difficult to keep up. Notably, these changes are persistently already altering our lives; the normal conduct of sectoral affairs, at least for many parts.
As a perfect illustration, once, the first and only point of call for all intending and interested marketers was the advertising house but such is not the case today. Its safe to say that globalisation and reachability of the social media makes it the sole culprit in this matter. Today, the likes of Facebook, Instagram and YouTube prove to be most effective for the purpose of marketing and advertisement. And, this is attributed to none other than the delivery skill and followership base of the said men behind the wheels ; the Influencers.
Crude as it does appear, the degree of effectiveness and coverage of the social media cannot be trampled down, which is why Influencers are now more valuable than ever. In the world of today, employing such marketing strategies like making a celebrity the face of the company brand may stir quite the audience attention but eventually, at least 8 out of 10 times, it is ineffective especially when compared to a one-time post by an average social media influencer. Interestingly, these influencers can be anybody.

One can as well say that we're in the era of influencers. Many of these guys have since learnt to monetize their content by first branding themselves properly. Whereas, so many others are still having a hard time making monies off the craft.

What is Patron?

Patron is a novel blockchain-fuelled platform that provides support for social media influencers, all around the globe thereby availing a sharing economy. With Patron, monetisation becomes very easy for all users, which include but is not restricted to influencers only. Other supported users include: followers(target audience) and sponsors.
So basically, Patron is a platform that host influencers from diverse spheres of life, like clothing, sports, cooking, etc and each influencer has a reputation score, which is otherwise a yardstick for monetary value. Amongst a few other reasons, the number of followers is easily a determining factor of the value placed on each influencer:

The PAT token

Here, the only acceptable currency is PAT, at least for now. And, PAT is an erc20 token. In other words, all payments and consultations on Patron are denominated in PAT.

On the premise that the sponsor has successfully reached an agreement with an influencer, Patron enables both parties to deal peer-to-peer using the PAT token and the contract nature may follow either of these:

  • Hire Contract, I.e being hired as the brand's social media handler,
  • One-time Brand Marketing/Freelancing,
  • Audience buyback

Benefits of Patron

Cheaper and more effective

Considering the fact that other good alternatives are largely ineffective and worse still, quite expensive, Patron could not have come at a better time than now.
Sponsors will undoubtedly stand to gain a lot especially in terms of cost. Every year, an average emerging organisation spends hundreds to millions of dollars on traditional advertising houses yet in the end there's hardly anything to show for it. Patron's novelty is indeed groundbreaking, as it will go a long way to reduce costs and still produce much better results.

Content monetisation made easy

Presently, many influencers still find it difficult to monetise their craft for fear of one thing or the other.
Patron however nullifies the burden. The structure on the platform inadvertently assigns monetary value to every influencer, thereby eliminating the problem.

Immutability

Applying blockchain technology into the architecture and core of the platform makes it much safer for users because of the following reason.
Notably, blockchain is an open-sourced chain of blocks, each with a different value and a fragment of the previous value. This makes it almost impossible to alter any input once made or too renege on a contract. The immutable property of blockchain makes Patron much safer and good for value transactions, without the fear of being defrauded.

Conclusion

Obviously, Patron will revolutionise our interaction with the rest of the world in no small way. From the ensuing only, it is crystal clear that the platform offers a win-win for everybody.

Well I'm inclined to agree with the point raised at the monetization effect of different advertising platforms on influencers and followers. But with the inception of patron, there will be significant adjudication .
