Cool cousin...for travel guide that you can trust

An uninformed mind is of a surety, a deformed one!

But for the advent of the likes of Steemit, Facebook, twitter, Huffington, and blog sites, quite a chunk of us would have continued to wallow in ignorance. These online platforms are especially useful for supply and rapid dissemination of information.

As a matter of fact, It was on facebook, i first heard of Michael Jackson's death several years ago.

The pact of these social media platforms in our world today, is quite vast, as such it cannot be ignored.

In recent times however, the chunk of information provided online are adulterated, untrue and frivolous. These Information may pertain to education, politics, art, or even travel.

A look at the global travel industry is compelling.

According to the travel agency industry in the United States only, around 15 billion U.S. dollars was generated in 2015 and about 12.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2010. The industry did not only grow in terms of revenue, however, but profits of travel agencies in the United States have also increased annually in recent years. A decade ago, the industry’s average profit-to-revenue ratio came to six percent. While many in the travel industry have declared the era of travel agents to be over, recent research shows that travel agents in the United States are reporting an increase in business. In 2015, over 60 percent of travel agents reported an increase in sales over the previous year.

Again, the prevailence of false information in many sectors constitues a huge problem. To say the least, it poses a serious challenge for the travel industry. Every year, people go for vacation with high hopes. Prior to this, they engage in endless scouting, surfing of net, and reading several travel reviews, eventually, the research is over and a decision is reached. Sadly, in the end, many travellers' expectations are hardly met. This is the major issue in the travel industry today.

Quite a number of travel agencies are gradually losing not only customers, but also trust (the very thing that should be top priority).

But this situation is only temporal.

Cool cousin is a fast growing decentralized ecosystem, which provides a sort of interface between travellers and travel destination dwellers or locals . And, it is highly-promising both in the long and short runs. It also promotes availability of genuine information on teeming online communities, particularly for specific end-users, and in this case, they are travellers and prospective travellers.

Cool cousin's recent addition of blockchain technology is an even grander and highly-laudable milestone. It would help in several ways, some of which are:
