The blockchain and the crypto currencies have advanced by leaps and bounds in the last few years, being this one of the technologies that are going to revolutionize the world as we know it. The Blockchain technology will provide the ideal infrastructure to develop in it the intenet of things and all the applications that come with it.
The Internet of Things is a concept that is becoming increasingly relevant, It's a term we hear about all the time. Internet of Things, or IoT, is a somewhat abstract concept but one that has been gaining a lot of popularity in recent months. The idea it tries to represent is quite well illustrated by its name, everyday things that connect to the Internet, but in reality it's about much more than that.
The Internet of things powers objects that used to be connected by closed circuit, such as communicators, cameras, sensors, and so on, and allows them to communicate globally through the use of the network of networks.
As the industry evolves, the need for a standard model to perform common IOT server tasks such as processing, storage or firmware upgrades becomes more important. In this new model it is very likely that different IOT solutions will work with common server services, which will ensure levels of interoperability, portability and manageability that are almost impossible to achieve with the current generation of IOT solutions.
The creation of such a model will never be easy from any point of view, as there are obstacles and challenges to the standardization and implementation of IOT solutions and that model must overcome them all.
The obstacles faced by IOT standardization can be divided into 4 categories: platform, connectivity, business model and key applications.
- Platform: This category includes the form and design of products (user interface and user experience), analysis tools used to securely handle the transmission of huge volumes of data from all products, and scalability, which means widespread adoption of protocols such as IPv6 in all vertical and horizontal markets.
- Connectivity: This category includes all the everyday elements of consumers using portable devices, as well as smart cars, smart homes and, at the highest level, smart cities. From a business point of view we have a connectivity that uses IOIT (Internet of Industrial Things), in which machine-to-machine communications dominate the landscape.
- Business model: the end result is a real motivation to start investing in, and running, any business. Without solid business models for IOT we will have another bubble: this model must meet all the requirements of all types of e-commerce, both vertical and horizontal markets, as well as consumer markets. But this category is always the victim of regulatory and legal scrutiny.
- Determining applications: any determining application must perform three functions: controlling "things", collecting "data" and analysing "data". IOT needs critical applications to drive the business model using a unified platform. The four categories are interrelated and all four need to work together. If one is missing, the model will not work and the standardization process will stop. A lot of work needs to be done in this process and many companies are involved in each of the categories, so sitting at the table to agree on a unifying model will be a mammoth task.

This process has created a massive adoption by consumers and brands. And it is here where new commercial opportunities are created to establish technological infrastructures through software and the analysis of data to consumer trends.
We are living a digital and technological adoption, where brands will begin to generate solutions in their products for the welfare of their consumers, creating new strategies and more intelligent uses of their products.
